<4" 18650 lights

Nope, bone-stock.

Might be the “MH20W” but the ‘W’ isn’t etched anywhere on it. Wonderfully just-warm-of-neutral, guessing 4500K or so.

Got a coupla other MH20s as spares, but don’t recall if they’re NW or CW.

Yeh, I learned my lesson. Get something, like it a lot, want spares so you don’t have to be without one… GET spares before they get discontinued.

Kewl, so I guessed right.

Wanna reinforce the stock?

My EDC, nice light, neutral tint, plenty of lumens, Anduril, quality battery and USB charging if that matters.

Thanks Blazer, I have an SC31 Pro, great light, but I'm looking for options 4 inches or less.

I have a Folomov 18650s and a DQG Tiny 18650 inbound, excited to try them out.

Au contraire! My E14III with the 18650 tube is under 4 inches

Also, my Lumintop HL3A has to be one of the shortest 18650 lights ever made!

Yes someone pointed out my error above, I didn't see an 18650 extension tube mentioned when I looked at the light... thanks for the suggestion!

Yes I did, and then I posted this:

Thanks MascaratumB

Ah, I see it now. As for your question, the E14 is about 3.95 inches according to my measurement.

Edit: and now I see that was already answered as well. Jeez, I need a coffee.

Not at those prices…

The one I’m using is the first, and that was about 70. The others were when I saw them discounted to 50 or less.

The MH20GT I’ve never ever seen discounted, so I only got 2, both “secondhand” from nice people here.

Funny thing is, I was intending to gift at least one of the regular ’20s, but changed my mind.

Yeah, quite “not cheap” :stuck_out_tongue: The first one is the cheapest and it is at almost 60! :money_mouth_face:
There are some other options with battery, charger and more stuff, so altough discontinued, they are still around

Although I do recognize how good they can be, they’re larger than what I like for EDC.

I normally like smaller lights, as OP is asking for. Current EDC is the Warrior Mini. Not the smallest , but has what I like in terms of UI.

Funny thing is, dimension for dimension, the MH20 is, within a mm or two, the exact same size as the i332, which takes a 16340! Not even an 18350, but actually a 16340.

So a ~4” light with charging, dual-stage switch, hella nice and simple UI, and full 18650, I’ve yet to have any other light dethrone it as my EDC.

Thought of another: lumzoo GH10
Amutorch AT40 should be just under at 100mm
Amutorch AX2

Thanks Scallywag, that AT40 looks nice, does the AX2 have an 18650 tube?

not recommended
unless they change the switch design

the downside to spares is, by the time you need a new light, something better will be out

for me, the Anduril UI is a good reason for this…

i feel like the reason i like a given light is usually mostly the UI, and i think anduril will be around for a while, unlike other one-off UIs that came before
only on new and improving platforms

Could you elaborate? Whats wrong with the switch design?

it broke
after about a year of EDC
no real hard use, just frequent

it is a very small switch, you can most likely not get a replacement, and if i recall the driver is glued in , or the switch is surface mounted or both
something about it (details escape me now) makes it hard to replace, and to obtain

the size makes it fragile as well
and it is mounted so that it is not supported by other than some solder pads

it is sideways on the pc board, sort of floating
when you press the button it tends to bend the solder, eventually breaking it and the switch comes loose
\
\maybe they changed it, but the current ads look the same
this was 3-4 years ago

FW3A has a good solid switch
very reachable, simple

at least compared to the DQG
