I have had my impressive LT1 Lantern for less than a week and I’m discovering many ways to mount it.
I purchased from Amazon the SMALLRIG Cool Ballhead Arm Super Clamp Mount Multi-Function Double Ball Adapter.
With this clamp I can clamp it to any desk or pipes etc.
For example, in our RV we have a very small countertop. Rather than rest the lantern on the countertop, I can clamp it securely to the countertop edge off to one side or to the cabinet above. There are locations throughout the RV where it can be mounted at any height and kept out of the way and held securely.
Outside of the RV, I can clamp it to the awning rail, or the back of a camping chair or any 2” lumber.
The ball and socket design lets me tilt it to any angle for best lighting conditions.
Another option for the clamp, is to use it as a “hook”. Just clamp it anywhere you want, and let the paracord from the lantern loop over the clamp.
To get the most out of this flashlight design it should be mounted securely and just the right location and height. It seems the higher I mount the lantern the nicer the light pattern.
Specifications:
The maximum opening of this super clamp is 40mm while the minimum is 15mm.
I think also some of the ‘accessories’ the BLF member recently made a video about include things to direct the light. He got a collapsible silicon bowl, cut the centre out the same size as the lantern top and fitted it like a lamp shade that directs muchore light down like a lamp shade does. He also has a side shade so you can focus the light in the direction you want and not into your eyes. Great idea from the OP, you should watch his accessories video, it gave me some great ideas how to better use this light.
Love the clamp idea! once i can get back on my feet, i will be back to work on the accessory kit, the LT1M mini, and planned LT2 (name to be discussed) variant. :sunglasses:
