Fireflies NOV-MU 21*Nichia E21A mule 1x21700 Flashlight --in stock

Damn, thats not a Good Customerservice.

I emailed FF with a question almost 2 weeks ago and they replied the next day.

Ordered my NOV-Mu on Jan 25, got a shipping notice today. According to tracking the light already got shipped Jan 31 via 4PX Express (4PX is quite fast in my experience)

BTW, what do you guys think NOV-Mu stands for? I already wondered about the ROT66 but never came to a conclusion. But I'd assume the Mu stand for mule...

Ok, so far I haven’t received an email. But i have send him an Email.

So wait……

I think also the MU stand for Mule but for NOV i dont have any idea……

I’m thinking NOV-MU stands for November Mule. It was originally announced for a November release.

I am interested in this one…is there any video of this in action ?

Me too I am curious to see a review of this flashlight and the E21A led compare with other famous emitters like 95CRI SST20 and Nichia 219B 4500k with 9080.

Good SST20 bin is like nonexistant on the market, you just find the ugly green binned ones. yuck.

219B is a little better color and tint than E21A, I think E21A is a little more efficient (closer to 219C). With 21 of them, this light should be extremely efficient (in theory), just wish they’d drop the turbo meme, then it could probably be more efficient…219B is hard to find these days, so you won’t see them on the market much longer. Hopefully they will pick up a Sunlike instead…it’s better anyway.

Light makers need to start using Smart Eco Lighting SOL or seoul sunlike

E21A measurements are in my signature, I added a diffuser measurement. As usual, keep in mind I’m testing indoors with low grade gear, results can and do vary drastically, esp due to room reflections

If no one has done a video by the time I start camping again, I’ll do some. My apartment is too bright outdoors at night. But there is no point with the NOV-MU, it’s an indoors/photo light…with diffuser on or off the beam is completely unfocused, you can guess how it will look, lol. The glare up close outdoors is pretty crazy

Diffuser is mostly useful for a camp lantern or a room light if you’ve lost power, but the glare is pretty bad unless you set it out of sight and up high. It’s better without it on, due to the glare.

EDIT: another thing, the edge of the E21A beam is VERY GREEN (but less so than SST20), while the center has a low DUV. The diffuser solves this issue, at a cost of being a source of glare in every direction.

My NOV-Mu arrived. Total time from order to arrival in Germany: 15 days.

To whoever complained about non-anodized threads: Try the threads at the head, they're anodized. Also as an added bonus the clip doesn't fall off when you unscrew it there. It's almost like FF intended it to be unscrewed at the head :D

If anyone has specific questions about the light, feel free to ask.

The SST20 you measured has a DUV of 0.0046, which is likely the FB4 bin. I’ve tested many different lights with the SST-20 4000k and Fireflies has by far the best non green batch. FF’s FA3 bin measured about 0.000 DUV at low levels and about –0.004x on turbo. I’m not sure if FF is on another batch now but the ones I’ve tested from them are the rosiest on the market (not as rosy as E21A or sw45k though).

Also I don’t understand why some folks are so against flashlights having a turbo mode. I love to have options and turbo is exactly that, an “option” that you don’t need to use if you don’t want to. Just run it on top-of-ramp or any other lower modes that suit your needs. FF has a super efficient Lume driver in their new line of lights with an “option” to enable FET/direct drive for those who want ultra high output at their finger tips. This should cover the entire user base.

I’m really loving mine so far. Will post an initial impressions review soon along with E12R.

I wonder if they will offer it in other colour temps. 2000K seems nice, but I would like something between 2700-3500K as well as I would find it more useful.

Interested to know the “real world” sustained lumens for this light?

Ok, thats really bad for me. I ordered at 30.01 and ive got only a Paypal Confirmation. Yes i also checked Spam folder every Day….

And i Emailed him Twice for an Update………no reply. On the Website my Status is since 30.1 only “PAID”

What can i do???

First time ordering from China?

Total shipping times up to and more than a month are not unusual and especially now with CNY coming up everybody needs to chill a little bit.

Not really. I have a lot of Orders from Hank ect and there was never a Problem with Communication. I got every single Time my Order Confirmation and Tracking :+1:

guesing around 1100. based on box graphic + lm/w charts i’ve seen.

edit: after testing, it gets pretty warm after 20 mins on the 1100 lumen setting, but didn’t look like it dimmed.

Just reviewing it now, for starters do I call it FireFlyLite or Fireflies? Secondly the UI is gash, but at least I can turn the light off from Turbo as Toykeeper wants to remove that option too. The Noctigon Anduril II UI puts it to shame. It’s very very powerful though and the tint is sublime.
The light is difficult to program as you don’t know what you’re releasing the light at after 9 taps and hold, Toykeeper has butchered programming too, the light flickers the lowest level.

The only thing I like about Anduril II is that it is difficult for muggles to accidentally enter a programming mode. I don’t like how you can’t double click twice to enter turbo. You need to to ramp to top of ramp then double click to turbo. Need to complain to Toykeeper to make it easier to enter turbo. Other than that these new lights are amazingly powerful. I think most people still call it Fireflies.

Which light and emitter are you testing?

Toykeeper claimed it’s what the manufacturers wanted (obviously not Noctigon and Astrolux who have shunned Toykeeper’s horrible vision of Anduril)

I’m testing the 4500K NOV-MU and believe it or not the throw is exceptional. It punches out there by brute force. It measures no where near the claimed 5200 lumens.

The light and box are labelled Fireflies the user manual only mentions Fireflylite. I was told they couldn’t use Fireflies anymore.

That’s strange, are you testing it with the 22430, or with a decent 21700? On the FireFlies 22430 battery, I’m getting around 3500 lm at turn on. With a Vapcell T50, that jumps up to ~5900 lm at turn on (with a maukka-calibrated lumen tube) and then started stepping down after 20 seconds or so due to heat. Hopefully I’ll have the full review (over at 1lumen.com) done in the next week or so.

What did you measure? With a 40T, I measured 5,155 lumens at 2sec from startup using my TA lumen tube calibrated with maukka lights. 95% of the time my measurements are below manufacturer specs and also lumen tubes measure flood lights lower so getting 5,155 lumens in a 5,200 lumens rated lights is amazing. My Noctigon KR4 mule w/ 16x 4500k E21A measured 3,578 with gray bezel and 3,879 with stainless steel bezel.
