Resolved, thank you BLF !

Long story short, I’ve fried my FW3A driver :person_facepalming:
Anyone in EU want to sell me one ?
EDIT : no need to replace the driver, it was only a loose tailcap !

Annnd UP

May I ask what happened? I had an incident where I stupidly shorted the LED wires while desoldering the MCPCB with a fully charged cell still in the light… driver worked partially, but acted very strange. Turns out to have been the moonlight channel 7135 was bad, and after replacement, back to like new. I don’t know if you have a similar situation or not, but hopefully it helps.

I’m sure somebody can supply you one though is there there isn’t a fix. Maybe ask once in the Lume1 thread, since many subscribers there likely have a spare stock board.

Cheers and good luck!

Than you for your answer, well here is what I did :
I tried at least 3 different board with differen knid of LEDs (Nichia 219A, SST20, and other I don’t remember).
Anyway, one of the board had a short (bad reflow) between ground and Thermal pad… So when I put back the head, that shorted the cell, to the point that one of the LED wire desoldered itself…
Now with a correct LEDs MCPCB, the tail switch doesn’t activate the LED. If I keep it pressed, the LEDs are blinking fast (maybe 10Hz) at about a dozen lumens…

Sounds like a contact issue with the signal tube honestly. I literally had this happen to me yesterday on my FW1A. I loosened the tailcap to rotate the lanyard ring and tightened without loosening the head first. Press and hold gave a ‘moonlight strobe’ and nothing else. I loosened the head, tightened the tail as hard as possible, retightened the head and it’s all good now. If this doesn’t work, a more meticulous disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly with likely fix your issue! Really!

I should have a driver but I’m not in Europe and shipping is like $9-10. So I’m unsure it’s worth it.

THANKS ! IT WORKS ! Damn, I nearly bought a Lume driver for 20 bucks on Nealgadget to save it yesterday…
I just tightened the tailcap a bit more and it works again !

What is the best address to send the bill? Are you tax exempt?

Woo!!
