That last part of that is what makes the largest difference for me. Even high Duv can be adapted to if they’re isn’t another reference source, but tint shift is the devil. No way around it. It’s its own reference.
If they can make a 4000k 90CRI emitter with the same or similar tint as the Luxeon V2 4000k, that would basically be the Holy Grail. I will eagerly await the test data.
Hey the 4090s are now MOQ of 1, even though they’re backordered, so I placed an order. Estimated lead time is ten weeks so it’s time I forgot about this thread for a while again!
In a light with an anodized shelf or with special treatment with kapton or thick thermal epoxy a DTP will work. I think it’s still better than the dielectric being right under the tiny thermal pad.
Mine shipped, should get them by the weekend. Sounds like some difficulties - standard centering rings won't fit and standard MCPCB's won't fit, plus the ground problem  . I'll see if they will fit under 3535 optics, if so, might try an a multi-LED light like the MF01 Mini.
Just to be clear, the comments about 3737 and a non-neutral thermal pad should be in reference to the HHL532.TK (“Black Flat S”). So not too unlike the original Black Flat.
The Luxeon HL2X, on the other hand, is supposed to be a standard 3535 footprint that’s compatible with our existing 3535 stuff.
Guess I will wait to see what Tom thinks of them before jumping in. Considering them for my EDC triple if they have higher output then the sst-20 and good tint.
Mine are coming today, FedEx. Mouser had a deal on FedEx or UPS 2-day for like $8. Besides the LED's, in this order are MCU's and FET's been running out of.
90 CRI's are not in stock. I have 4000K 80 CRI's and 3000K 80 CRI's delivering today, qty 10 of each. If you want a couple of each, I could send them to you. They are so cheap, at 72 cents each in qty 10. They are like 1/2 the price of SST-20's!
My order should be here Friday if the snow doesn’t delay it. The only HL2X that are in this shipment for me are the 4080s. They really are inexpensive… I hope they aren’t cheap! Will be testing them under a bunch of TIRs and reflectors. I’ll post my impressions. Jos, I’ll notify you when I get a solid ETA on the 90CRI versions.
