I just mowed the lawn for 6hrs and listen to three album’s. A blast from the past. The weird thing is after all these years I still know what song is coming up next must be imprinted on my brain.
This one came as revelation to me when I heard Sarah Dugas (formerly of The Duhks) sing it live with The Waybacks a few years ago. So I was all smiles when I found Sarah's studio version from her time with the Duhks (pronounced "Ducks"). To my ear, this is as good or better than the original recording by Bob Dylan. One of my all-time favorite Dylan covers.
Thanks to all the posters in this thread. I like to come here to listen to stuff that's just a little out of my usual wheelhouse. Keeps me on my toes.
for me that is most undervalued band ever (though, of course, each of you have it`s own list) besides Hieronimus Bosch which is awesome russian technodeath metal band.
awesome voice and melodies
`ve been fan of them in like last 15 years
good stuff to listen to when you sitting in countryhouse garden and drinking some tea
no, dont like lemon. it makes feel i need extra couple of tea. i prefer some smoky lapsang souchong. and then polish it with glass of moonshine. or vice versa )
btw, see that you`re from NY, HEM are from this city as well.
that is most soft and melodic band i can remember of, besides, perhaps Simon and Garfuncel.
Hieronimus bosch released a couple of albums, but one of them , "artificial emotions" is a masterpiece of genre. there were few metal bands that could perform on the level of world known bands, HB is one of them
I Don’t Like Mondays. by The Boomtown Rats. I never hear this played anywhere. There’s a real event behind it that most people don’t know. They took down the original video that accompanied it. Although you can still find the video on other channels but the quality is not as good
Mmm, pretty good version of it on Bongiovi’s “One Wild Night” (awesome album, fwiw), too. Kinda of a duet of him and Geldof.
Not quite the version on OWN, but close enough…
Oh yeh, after the shooting, the cop was asking the gril, “Tell me why [you did it]?”, and her reply was simply “I don’t like Mondays.”, hence the song’s name.
