FW3A Troubleshooting / FAQ

It’s unknown. Maybe newer ones have it, but older ones are still being sold from their inventory. You would need to do the 13H to find out if yours has it or not.

I try but nothing happen… 12 click, 13 click or maybe 14 click… just for fun :person_facepalming:

Why the sad face? None of my lights have the reset and it is no big deal. They work just fine.

Yes men, all of my light are old… only the Astrolux FT03 has reset

I love my fw3a deep carry clips, and have about 3 extra at all times for other lights they fit on as well as if I buy a new fw3a. But I have had the “return” part of the clip catch on things and pull away from the rest of clip, permanently bending it, happen multiple times. It just happened right now, getting into my car, here is a picture of what I mean:

I usually just end up cutting the return part off with an angle grinder, sanding the edges and moving on. Anyone else have this happen to them? Is it just me? I have other clips that have returns on them like this, and they get caught on things, but never permenently bend like the fw3a clip . It’s really annoying whe it happens and it always happens to me, this clip is about 2 weeks old and now I’m averaging 100% of the time I use a new fw3a deep carry, I bend the return out and “ruin” it. I have heated it and Bent it back into place before, but it just keeps happening. I wonder if these clips aren’t hardened steel like others may be? Any info would be awesome. Thank you.

Note- it got caught on the underneath of my steering wheel while I was getting into my car. That’s usually where it gets caught and bends for me. But I’ve also have hd it get caught while I’m standing up while leaning against something in a tight space, and what I’m leaning against is fabric or sturdy enough to catch the clip and bend it.

I hate two way clips. Seriously. I’d cut the second bend off them immediately. They aren’t practically usefully and just and bulk and snag points. I really don’t know why they are trending…

No disrespect all you clip users. Please educate me why not just drop the light into your pocket? Things clipped to pockets and belts are bound to get snagged.

  • Dirty hands
  • Wet hands
  • Cold hands
  • Someone else’s hands

Seriously though, I started using lanyards more lately and that’s been working out. And suspension clips. That’s how I’ve been carrying my FW3A for years…

I’m mildly obsessed with deep carry clips, I guess just because of how they sit in pocket abd are accessible- BUT- after this bend happened yesterday, I took the clip OFF the rest of the day and actually really liked it just sitting in my pocket. “Old school style” lol, from how I used to carry lights

Removing clips from lights can really streamline the look and feel.

  • It’s uncomfortable for me to have any but the very smallest lights sitting in the bottom of my pocket
  • Consistency of orientation and ease of access
  • Not jumbling with my keys, which sit in the bottom of the pocket that I clip my lights to
  • probably decreased activation risk compared to hitting my keys in the bottom of the pocket

Hi.
I have some problems with my FW3A. It is first batch model.

Some day I pressed the button and nothing happens. I holded it ans went ON in muggle mode.
I never used muggle or set light that way.
Switched to back to ramping.
Now I can brighten the light to first “stop”, it does not go further. Also I lost turbo mode, double click just switches off the light.
Battery does not matter. Tested on many cells. Cleaning, reassembling make no difference.
Can I reset it somehow to factory settings?
Mike

No reset. Probably a retainer ring loose . Every time I remove my battery for charging it does weird stuff but it straightens out after tightening the head and tail in order.

Double checked. No difference.
Also I can’t go to moon mode any more.
Mike

Did you try 6 clicks to exit muggle?

Ha!
It was in muggle mode. No idea how, cause I never went to that mode and no one plays with this light except me. Out of muggle it is stepped ram, but easy to switch,
Solved,
Thanks, Mike

I’ve done this to my FW3A a couple of times and it goes into muggle mode ww/o me realising it. So if I can’t click and hold the 13th click to reset it, 99% of the time I was in muggles mode and need to click 6 to get out.

Hi all, I’m hoping you can help me out.

I recently purchased a Lumitop FW3A, initially loved it, until the battery went flat for the first time. Took the battery out to charge it, since I put it back in the light works (on limited functionality) as follows:

> Screw the cap on - blue light come on (not a flash as it should be)

> push button once - dim blue light

> push button twice - very bright light (perhaps max setting?)

> no other functions or combination of button presses work other than those described above.

I have tried the reset, but that didn’t work or fix the issue.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues, from reading the forum I can’t seem to see anyone who has, nothing I try is working! Very frustrating, please help!

Thank you in advance.

Cheers,
Michael
