I want a 26650 thrower

Yeah, i barely use 26650 anymore

FT03 takes 21700 as well. It has an excellent reputation on BLF.

Could you explain what makes a good thrower?

Not that there aren’t better ones out there, but I got this fake L2 host on the cheap from the forum here, installed a XHP-35.2 and the convoy single cell driver and I’m really happy with it. Don’t know what the throw is exactly, but its a lot. An L2 clone or an real L2 seems like a pretty good platform for what you’re looking for in a single 26650 set-up. I like an XHP-35 hi or 35.2 and the convoy driver for my needs. Even with the dome on, the XHP35.2 is a great thrower in my opinion in this large reflector. Waiting for the 35.2 HI version to be available for sale….

I guess I’m trying to find a home for my last 26650 before going fully to 21700. Hoping to get a semi-jacket-pocketable thrower in one, but looks to not be happening.

No more KDIYs for me…delayed mode memory—dealkiller!

Yes and I won’t until there are advances in 26650 battery tech. which I believe isn’t that likely.

Kaidomain has 6500K 80+ CRI

How about Haikelite SC26 - it’s not A thrower but definitely throwy with xhp35.

There’s also sofirn SP70 but it probably doesn’t have boost driver.

How small and how much throw? I’m really liking the Astrolux EA01 with the SST-40 in. Very compact and with the TIR optic gives some useable beam distance. More semi thrower than true thrower IMO. But very useful. You also only need to run it on high not turbo and output is pretty stable.

Thrunite Catapult V6 is nice. Hard to find the button though.

Oh, and it’s 26650 body fits the Acebeam E10, if you have one and want moire run time out of it.

Don’t tell me you don’t like this one:

Fireflies T9R

Man that is an ugly ass light. Hope it works good.

Imalent just recently released a sbt-90 hunting torch UT-90, it has a 2x21700 battery pack. I bought this light and is throws the light out but doesn’t have that high intensity small clean spot that say an Olight warrior Turbo or Javelot has. FT03 is a good light IMO but it neither has that fine clear straight spot.

Lol. I wanted to buy it so bad based on specs, but I can’t get past the look. It’s like the Tesla truck of flashlights imo .

Edit: therefore, I’m buying a K1 instead.

Isn’t that a 21700/18650 light, not a 26650 one?

Yes but I thought the conclusion was that 26650 was a waste of time.

Remember, the side switches are too easily activated, so if I can’t have tail forward clicky or momentary only (like the ft03), it won’t work for jacket pocket carry,

If you dont mind DIY… mtn has L2 hosts back in stock. You’ll need to pick your emitter and driver though. I like MTN because they offer wire/spring solder service.
I think they will do emitter MCPCB reflow too for a small fee. For me and my shaky hands those are always the hardest parts of a build.
I’m partial to the UF-1504, DIY with an XPL-HI and FET driver. It’s aspheric focus and reverse clicky though which is OK for me. I have used this setup for years car camping and coat pocket night hiking with zero problems.

Either of these hosts will project a tight pencil beam with a CSLNM1.TG. I dont have first hand experience with one however. It seems a little beyond my DIY skills when it comes to drive current. I just need to see ~200-300 meters, which the 1504 / XPL-HI will very easily do. Still though I am kind of tempted to build a new one with a CSLNM1.TG.
