Just ordered a Zebralight Sc64c le

I’m not trying to virtue signal, I had done enough research to know that it would/should ship in a few weeks.

I’m still on the fence about the d4v2. One reason is that I have a 2 yo that I would have to be very careful around. I have tons of guns that I keep safe, but a light just doesn’t have the same sense of urgency to keep away from little hands.

Just lock the D4V2 out.

Chris

There’s always that.

Don’t forget your goat-leggings!

Anyhoo, for good color rendering, you’d probably want to stick with a LH351 or 219B or -C.

I’m not “into” the SSTs, but vaguely recall some of them have good CRI. Lotta them can be greenish, though.

You (OP) want “punch” in a compact package, get a GTmicro. Impresses the Hell outta people when they see it in action.

14500, though, so limited runtime when cranked up vs an 18650.

Or just get a GTmini or P30 (C8 size) or some C8 variant (some come with high-CRI emitters, too).

Dude, I have no idea what all those things are you just wrote. Now I’m on a rollercoaster of flashlight emotions!

Keep your hands inside the car at all times…

Come on Lightbringer, speak English to the nube. He only has 8 posts. Can’t expect him to speak Lightbringer yet.

Probably came from r/flashlight at reddit. So I’m sure this isn’t the first time he’s heard led nomenclature. Although, they are pretty good at cussing, posting knives, guns, and custom hanky’s for no apparent reason

If those are good things, unfortunately I cannot claim they are true.
If they are bad, then I can proudly deny your assumptions.

The SC64 LE is a very compact and efficient light. I think it will be plenty for delivery needs, but it never hurts to have a backup, and the D4v2 is real hot rod…you may have seen posts about how at its max output, it can actually burn things that are too close.

In short, you picked two really good lights. I’ve heard some delivery drivers also like having a light with a tight, throwy beam, but I think you’re just fine waiting to see how these two perform before worrying about any more.

Since you didn’t mention, did you order batteries and a charger for your new lights?

Shoot, back when I did delivery driver I carried a Maglite 3D with the magnumstar bulb and it was FANTASTIC. Then I eventually upgraded to a Surefire G2 (incan) and was in awe. These days, my keychain light damn near outperforms both of those.

Zebralight is a great light, you’ll be happy. I can’t vouch for the D4 but its got a cult following. As for delivery work, I at least wasn’t making much. On a budget I’d grab a Convoy S2+ SST-20. High CRI goodness with good output and good throw. Certainly more than enough of either to find addresses and building numbers. Despite the fact its one of my cheaper lights (by far) this particular setup is still one of my favorites. They just got it right. An alternative budget option would be a Sofirn Sp31Pro. Bonus s that the Sofirn has on-board charging.

Thanks guys, I did order a couple of more batteries, but already have a few I got before I did very much research at all. Also I do have a charger. This pizza delivery gig is just a weekend thing. Just to kind of give us a little extra pocket change to go out and take trips. I do pretty well, I made over $100 last Saturday night. Not CEO pay, but it puts money in the oatmeal can.

I am just curious, why did you choose SC64 over SC600 versions? How about SC64C instead of SC64HI?

K…

Lumintop GTmicro, in “NW” as in neutral white. Goggle it, and I’m sure others will jump in as to where to get one… or where not to get one.

Just get one. You’ll thank me later.

I have a few Zebra Light 64’s 600’s and 52’s. Love them all and carry them often.

My favorite all around light with good throw and useable spill is a Convoy M2 that I put a Luxeon V2 5000K into. Don’t know if they still make the M2. Have a BD06 that I put them same emitter in. Neither really a pocket light though. Would be good to keep in car for your delivery purposes.

I like simple lights. I don’t carry Andruil lights. They are fun around the house lights but, I can’t take them serious. Too much fluff and too many clicks to remember.

Oh BTW, my only complaint about Zebra Lights.

If you single click to get into high mode and you left it in H2 and want to double click to get into H1, if you do it all too fast, the light sees it as a triple click and sends you to beacon mode. If you leave the light in H1 mode of course you don’t have that problem. It just aggravates me sometimes.

Buy a DQG Tiny 18650, great UI and plenty of light. It’s not a hot rod like most of the lights now days but it is even smaller than the the SC64.

A.1. $20 cheaper
A 2. A little smaller
A.3. Most importantly, it was the first one someone, somewhere suggested as a good edc light

B.1 I am getting the Sc64c
B.2. Why? I had to choose one. I don’t remember if it was a flip of the coin or if I had some real logical reasons, but I felt ultimately that I couldn’t go wrong either way.

Unfortunately, I have tapped out my flashlight budget. I’ll consider this when I recover.

I feel like the Emisar will be a fun light. We’ll see how much I fidget with it.
