Thermal regulation not required tonight

Just for giggles I stuck my SC31 Pro on my back step rail and left in on Turbo for 5 minutes. Went in the house and did a temp check. It was 21 degree C after 5 minutes of Turbo! Now that is cold out

Wow!

Did you know what the temperature was outside? I wonder how Anduril will display negative temperature…? for example, if it is –10c, how does it blink –10c? Did the sc31 pro remain on turbo for 5 minutes?

It was about –5 or so F. As far as I could see the light stayed on full turbo but of course my eyes are not necessarily good enough to be sure. However, it did eat a fair amount of battery so I think it did. AFAIK it is thermally regulated not time regulated. 21 degrees would not begin to activate thermal regulation.

I do know that it blinks something really odd when the light goes below 0 C. Have done that several times. However, when it is this cold my light is usually in my pocket and I haven’t tried to check as we were below 0 C months ago and the novelty wore off

Hey thanks for that! I just thought it was freaking out below freezing. Turns out that it is still a reasonably accurate temp sensor when you know how to read it. Clipped the light on my coat pocket last night as I walked the pooch around the block. Checked the temp and it blinked out 241. Reasonably close. The actual air temp was something like 3 F. The flashlight read about 5 F.

I always wondered what would happen if you left a light in the freezer overnight then while still in the freezer put it on turbo and kept it there.

I am not crazy enough to try it.

When I did the turbo test it was with a room temp light that I put on Turbo in weather that was colder than my freezer. When I tested the light to see how the temp sensor worked at roughly freezer temperature I did not put in on turbo. Have done so in the past but always started at a lower setting.

I did run my TH20 a time or two with a 14500 on turbo for a walk in freezer temps. Started with warm light though. Ran fine till the LVP stopped it right as I was finishing my walk.
