I know these batteries are all about flashlights, but I’m hoping that one of y’all will be able to help me here. I have an old computer 11 years old now, but all that’s really wrong with it is that the battery won’t keep a charge. I have to keep it plugged into the wall at all times if I’m going to use it. I just want to replace the battery, but I see a lot of different batteries out there, is there a good aftermarket battery that I can trust, and from a source I can trust, that’s not super expensive?
it looks like a replacement is around $50, I would like to spend no more than $20 to $30 if possible.

If I were you, I'd be looking at Amazon customer reviews.
There is no such thing as a quality replacement laptop battery. Look on ebay and get the one that makes sense for you.
Bottom line: they all suck, they all claim to be Japanese cells when they are not.
Thanks guys, I found one online and anticipate having to return it for replacement at least once before I get a good one.
Don’t forget to crack the old one open and use those cells. You might find something decent in there: sony’s from japan or LG’s or samsungs from korea. I cleaned a few dozens up and 99 % are still working. The sad part is some of those battery packs were a little over a year old and there was no warranty left. The replacement of the batteries were never needed. It was always the circuit protection in them and replacing those were next to impossible without destroying the pack to get to it, or getting a working one from the manufacturer.
The old battery is over 10 years old. Is there any chance of there being anything good in there?
Forget about trying to save a 10 year old battery. New ones are $5 each. We spend so much money on cell phone and cable bills then we put 10 year old batteries in out flashlights. Makes no sense.
