Should we have yet another GB for BLF-348?

Yes, I learned of this well after the last remaining stock had been sold. I bought a regular Singfire 348 and it had a purplish cool white tint.

it needs a keychain attachment thing, like some kind of side clip with hole

Mine with a lovely Nichia LED went missing, would love another couple, my fav 10440 light

Latest batch of the BLF-348 hat keychain hole with already attached keychain.

Ok, I see the point. I’d buy some if on,y 1 mode like original. But nichia or nice led would be… nice. Could this be a possibility? Making them again?

You mean that 0.5mm hole near the switch? That’s no good…

Why is it no good?

I may agree to arrange a new GB, but only if they are like the originals , high CRI and one mode only . :sunglasses:

Like someone mentioned, GB (the shop) is not what they used to be back then => If I would run a new GB, it wouldn’t be with GB.

All I can say now is that you got me interested. I’ll explore some options and come back after some time. Don’t hold your breath.

Quick answers to some of the questions:

  1. Two modes => NO!
  2. Waterproof => Probably not possible. Would be nice though. (A couple of my 348’s have been through washing machine: Worked fine after drying  )
  3. Very bright => No. The original had a suitable amount of lumens (on AAA) so that it can be given to any non-flashaholic (child, your grandmother)
  4. Better switch => Probably not. We asked for fwd clicky earlier and it was deemed as “no go”
  5. Better clip => This would be very nice to have, but impossible with low price. Maybe as an optional addon for a couple of dollars more?

Because it’s too small, and rings that thin will bend very easily and you loose the light

If this goes alive, I may be in for a couple of them

This one has been lonely :stuck_out_tongue:

I would be interested in a couple if there was another run.

My 348s are my most carried EDC lights, and I like to use them to try out new emitters.

I’ve bought a few (‘Soshine’ branded) from AliExpress but the supply seems to have dried up.

Edit: It looks like they might be available under the ‘Yupard’ brand:

Definitely interested. I missed out on these.

Count me in.
I would buy several units.
As long as the seller is not nealsgadgets.

Simple and dim muggle lights are not my favourites…but I would nevertheless like to get one to see why people like it so much…

I bought a total of 6 of the original blf version if I remember correctly. Only one still works. Five had switches fail within the first year.

I bought something like 4 of ’em but was wearing out one ’cause the threads were hair-thin and soooo easy to strip. Change a cell, and you’re taking the light’s life in your hands. The one I had (others untouched and still in their boxes) was pretty much press-fit as far as the two halves.

As far as the ones in boxes, I lost ’em, then found ’em, then lost ’em again… who knows where they are now. At least I don’t recall for sure. Am only going by that one sample as far as my assessment of the threads.

I wouldn’t mind one. They look nice and if they can be modded might be decent. I wouldn’t pay more than $15 for one though and it must be able to use a li-ion and nimh. There are other better options out there for around $20 (E2A, etc.).

I would get one if it was waterproof. Especially with that 219b.

As far as I know, the most recent batch of known quality was organized by Killzone Flashlights. They were able to get a batch made with the 219B, but never restocked it after they sold out, maybe a year ago?

If somebody wants to try to get this light available again independent of Gearbest, it seems like reaching out to Killzone would be a good option. On the downside, they are US based and unlikely able to offer similar pricing to what a big foreign discount retailer can, nor get the subsidized international shipping.

I could think of some alternative lights that would be interesting in a 219B variant, but I won’t derail the thread other than to note the popularity of the BLF-348 was its simplicity and the 219B emitter.

The BLF-348 was itself a custom version of the Singfire SF-348. Presumably lights you are referring to are that version, but I don’t know if there might be some lower quality clones in distribution out there, too.

10440 support if anything.
