FREEME ✌ ASTROLUX EA01 SST40 (2300lm)/ XHP50.2 (3500lm) TIR 26650/ 26350 Flashlight Group Buy - ALIVE!

I have my doubts about this. Even neglecting the technical absurdity of this, the 21700 adapter simply won’t fit into a narrower tube. Judging by the video, where it fits tightly into the blue one.

Thanks Tom, great help. Is the ratio the same for other ramp levels? ex: 4/5 ramp = 50% lumens, 2/5 ramp = 25% lumens, etc.?

Don't think so. Here's an example of ramping tables from NarsilM for a FET+1 config:

//---------------------------------------------------------------------
// Standard FET+1 2 channel modes
//---------------------------------------------------------------------
//#define RAMP_SIZE 130 // for using TURBO_LEVEL_SUPPORT
#define RAMP_SIZE 150
#define FET_START_LVL 66

#define TIMED_STEPDOWN_MIN 115 // min level in ramping the timed stepdown will engage,
// level 115 = 110 PWM, this is ~43% (for 350's)
#define TIMED_STEPDOWN_SET 102 // the level timed stepdown will set,
// level 102 = 72 PWM, this is ~32% (for 350's)

// For FET+1: FET and one 350 mA 7135 (tested/verified to be smooth):
// level_calc.py 2 150 7135 3 0.3 150 FET 1 1 1500

level_calc.py noted above is the Python script. The values in the tables are the PWM values, and the index into the tables is the ramping level. When we ramp up, the index gets bumped up by 1 every 16 msecs.

UPDATE: to my original response - i do in fact see the violet dot. I actually did not at first, because it is very slight. but i reflowed a xhp50.2 6.5k in my noctigon KR1 tonight and i saw the violet dot. i’ve never seen this before with any of my xhp50 single emitter lights, but now going back and checking i see it in multiple of my xhp50 lights. i am actually kind’ve bummed, as ignorance was bliss - before when i wasn’t looking for it i never noticed it. My kr1’s xhp50 came from Simon’s convoy store, so its in my astrolux and convoy lights.

Also, i see it outside, from 100 feet away while shining it on the side of my house (more so in my 6500k light then my EA01 5700k light).

but i just wanted to let you know, you aren’t alone with this stupid purple dot. Anyone know what it is? Or why? My KR1 has it, even while running in the “5amp CC” levels. not just turbo.

Surprised no one else has chimed in about that. ^

so on Aliexpress is the quad version not available anymore….:cry:

Me too.

You should have already shown what it is about …

Do you mean a photo? I have tried to capture it in a photo but with the only camera I have- my iPhone, I have not been able to capture it. It does not show (with the 5700k) at a close distance, only over 5-10ft. I think this makes it harder to blurt a photo of unless you have a solid setup for taking photos.

I was seeing it last night with my 5700K outside against the house from about 40 feet too.

I’m thinking about dedoming one of my xhp50 that is doing it, to see if it has any effect on the purple dot.

It will also lower the CCT which mine needs. A little blue looking.

Yes, the 5700k in ea01 looks very similar to my 6500k in a couple other lights. I don’t know if it is the optic effecting the color?

MT01 (SST40) arrived. It was so sharp, unfinished the bezel, that could the paper be cut with it. I had to grind with sandpaper. :frowning:
Otherwise, I like the beam profile. Outside, it can be very useful for hiking and walking.

Unfortunately, I measured that consume 19x as much electricity on standby as EC01.

MT01/EA01 consumption is 1,68mA Does not change. It seems the microcontroller does not go to sleep.
EC01 and SC31 Pro consumption is just 0,09mA at intervals jumps up to 0,15mA.
Each with low-level button backlit.

What are you measured? Is that average?

I measured mine EA01 (SST40), on standby it consumes 0,09 mA.

Thanks for the reply! Sadly, mine is faulty :frowning: I tried to factory reset. It wasn’t better.

Yup Freeme, could I have a coupon for this light please. Thanks

Coupon code please.

Sent.

Mine has the center purple dot too. It also has a yellow corona, then further out is bluish. Yea, it sux, and it's a CREE XHP.

I sliced a SST-40 in my EA01 and it came out terrible - big loss of lumens and barely 4% increase in kcd. I was so disappointed, I restored it back with a domed SST-40 5000K from Simon. 87 kcd with a nice big spot is not so bad, plus about 2000 lumens and decent tint, and wayyy better beam than the XHP50.2.

The slice looked pretty good - it could have been the LED, dunno. The wires and phosphor were not touched and it sliced pretty low.
