Northern Exposure was a great series back in the 90s. Almost impossible to find now . The DVDs sold don’t have the original music which I understand to be is the hang up with bringing it back. The music was a large part of the appeal. Any fans here?
Yeh, I remember it well. To me, most of it was hit or miss, lotta really good eps, lotta facepalm eps.
I think they were and probably still available, but you gotta know where to look.
I still wanna find a good (ie, not grainy scratched overplayed VHS-to-digital) copy of “Strange Luck”.
I know what you mean by bad quality VHS. I taped Northern off A&E back in the 90s commercials and all. In one way it is funny to see the stuff being advertised again.
I actually just watched a VHS copy of the tv show “Probe” from back in the 80s. My favorite author - Asimov - was one of the writers. I doubt anyone on earth but me remembers the show

I’ve been watching Northern Exposure for the first time and it’s some of the best TV I’ve watched in quite some time! Sure, some epidodes are a little out there but all in all it’s entertaining, vivid and still relevant.
It doesn’t hurt either that I’ve lived north of 60 and can relate to the weirdness going on under the midnight sun or the aurora :D.

Some episodes are LMAO. Rick getting hit by a satellite or the running of the bulls. How are you watching if you don’t mind? The DVDs being sold on Amazon don’t have the original music. I rather watch on my old VHSs, commercials and all, than watch the DVDs. This could be making money in reruns but the fighting over loyalties prevents everyone from making money. 
Today:
“Beverly Hills, 90210” (on Kodi since nobody else offers super old TV shows)
and
“The L.A. Complex”
Sadly I’m also watching the DVD version, obtained through the bay… by a friend 
.
It's not the worst as I haven't seen the TV version, it's like watching a book adaptation without having read the book, one can't get as easily disenchanted by missing details.
But I sure would love to see the original!
There is a UK blu-ray release with the original music, but it's quite pricey and it wont play on a blu-ray player where you cant change the location code appropriately (or you need to have a player bought in the UK).
For a look at the original you can try this website. It plays all day and you can’t control it but it works.
