Should we have yet another GB for BLF-348?

Nothing really, I just wouldn’t be interested in it, in this particular light. Most of them are too cold white. I think this little single mode light would be extremely popular with a more neutral or even warm tint.

Lumintops EDC01 with the Osram. God awful. Tool AAA with Osram. God awful.

Had a Wuben, Acebeam, and a Manker that I forget the name of, all small lights, not throwers. They were crap as well.

I like the Osrams in bigger lights with a big reflector or those new cool TIR’s they are using now. Great throwers. Depending on the LED variant.

So I don’t think anything is wrong with them. Should they be in a single mode AAA light? I dunno maybe a few people would like them. Not to offend blind people but, some of them might like it. Most likely not though.

No worries. I’m not currently planning to put Osram’s into these. Just wanted to hear your opinion.

For personal use, there are better options. As a gift, it is perfect as it is.

Since I already gave anyone a light who wanted one [or rather not], I voted for “go away”. I’d buy one, so I hope they won’t be produced.

Any possibly of fwd clicky since it’s single mode?

Maybe someone said that already? I’m late to the party as usual

I’d be in for a few.

I guess the reply from the answers that:

As i suspected, question answered though, hidden in plain sight! Shame, prob dead horse time but…it’d be nice with fwd click for momentary.

I got one of the “blf 348”s with nichia and it was a horrible 219c. Luckily the reflector was open enough for 219b 45 swap. Gave it to my dad. I like the modest output. It did get pretty hot when left on though.

I guess it is hard to get small FC switches. A while ago I bought some small ones from Kaidomain store at Aliexpress, thinking that they would be FC, but they are reverse switches. So I guess that is one of the main factors.
Olight has the i3T but I guess the switch is customized by them to that light, not commonly available.

Sooooooo…….is anything going to come of this thread? It’s pretty clear people are interested in buying more of this light

I’ve been gifting quite a few of those lights - sometime the plain non BLF ones though, and i’m missing them. The slim brushed SS body is quite nice compared to most other AAA lights. I’d buy more if they become available again.

Hoping for better threads… They were really cheap and prone to mishandling.

I’d like a couple more. Keep it not too bright, high-CRI. Maybe E21 would be a good fit since it’s low vf? My sister in law took one and I only have one more.

If I ever find the 3 extra NIB ones I got (219Cs, I think), I’ll let youse know.

Wasn’t a fan of the hair-thin threads, either.

They were nice in theory, but I never “got into” them like others did.

Those were my fav ones with that emitter, shoot me a PM if you come across them and want to sell me one (or more)

thread started in 2016

is anything going to actually happen?

wle

Seems dead, unless we really bug the right people. As of now, I don’t think they are paying much attention. Plus, you can get a Singfire clone for like $16 or something like that, but with a lame xpg3. You could swap it for a 219 though.

GB was in 2016, so now the attendees need more lights

And the (creator of the GB) is aware of the increasing interest:

There’s a Singfire sf-348 (with a pretty awful green xpg) for $7 available at fasttech:

https://www.fasttech.com/product/4129503-singfire-sf-348-led-flashlight

I bought one and put a 219b in it and its lovely

Does anyone know of a replacement driver for this which has more than one mode and still can take NiMH and 10440 batteries?

I saw the SF-346 on there. Bigger reflector? Wonder how that one is.

I want to buy one of those, but how difficult is it working in that small 12mm head? I have swapped LED’s in my ~19mm xeno e03, and that was tight . I don’t know if I can not ruin stuff in such tight quarters… :person_facepalming:
