BLF LT1 Clip on shade (3D printed) test samples available

Just saw this thread today…I’d be interested in a set if you’re going to make another batch!

Hello everyone, sorry for the delay in getting back in action, feedback I have received is positive so I am happy to produce more for sale.

I will start a thread in the sales section and I will PM anyone who has shown interest.

I have not tried painting one yet, but I will give it a go to see if it reflects any useful light forward.

I’m not trying to make profit with these, just provide a service to the community and cover my printer costs, so probably price at £2 per shade + postage.

Thanks, Sam

Thanks’ for the update, I would be interested in two please let me know when and how to proceed.

Hello Big Sam … congratulations !!! I was also very interested in the two versions. Will it be possible to send to Brazil? One more question: Would you also be able to produce a wider base for LT1 support when you are directly on the ground?

Hello,

Heopfully I have now sent PM to everyone who was interested. I ship worldwide at cost

Yes I was thinking of making a base that connects via the tripod screw and possibly has folding legs also.

I would also like to make a large carry handle and a red 360 shade, the problem is don’t have much free time, but I will try.

that would be great Sam !!! Very interested too.

Great project Sam! I would like two please, if available. Thanks

Hello, it won’t let me send you a PM for some reason, I have more being printed just now. PM me if you can.

Thanks

I’m working on some bases that attach using the thumbwheel screw. As an added bonus I found the battery tube from the LT1 fits my Sofirn Q8 and means you can attached a lanyard via a tripod D ring.

I have plans for a version with legs that fold up, but can’t work out how to draw it yet, after 16 years of using sketchup, transitioning to Fusion 360 is testing my patience having to relearn everything.

That’s because the design is based on the Q8.

I can’t find it again, but some time ago I saw a lantern with folding legs, using paracord to keep it open/closed. It was a prototype design on Thingiverse, maybe even here.

Many thanks from the States, Big_Sam!

Received mine yesterday, and they fit & work great.

I particularly like the grey shade, as it lets some light through.

Much appreciation to you Big_Sam, for offering these up for feedback,

and looking forward to what you come up with in the future!

That’s a very impressive model of the LT1, thanks for doing that! My difficulty is getting my head around fusion, I’ve used 2D for the last 20years, and going 3D is a new thing to learn.

Slightly off-topic but talking about legs for the LT1 - I use these small tripod legs.

I would like one of each please.

These are nice.

Are these the ones from etsy? Can you show me how they are attached, please? (photo of the inside of the shade)

They clip to the o-ring groove. You can see it here:
