PSA: FF E07x Pro preorder page is up (and limited)

Apparently the chip shortage is even affecting FF.

Jack STILL didn’t reply to my inquiry as to the bin of the SST20, hope I don’t regret my order lol only FA3 and FA4 is good :frowning:

Fireflies E07X Pro $78 not bad i guess

It looks so nice…so tempting…what do I do?

It still says 680m XPL HI which makes no sense.

I would guess candela is around 60-70k on turbo, which would be 1 lumen at 680 meters. not really a useful metric, the spill will blind you to that 1 lm…

I don’t know why they won’t post candela numbers. If the Hank lights use 10 degree tir, then it’s probably similar.

Limited to 120, I guess I’ll wait until July to order.

680m would be 116kcd…I’m expecting 40-50kcd for the XPL HI.

I just received mine. It was posted in the 19th of April so got to the UK very quickly.

Still USPS awaiting package, as always. And probably won’t show tracking til it’s at my door

I hate to resurrect a slightly old thread, but I can’t find a better thread for this. I am so torn between the Nichia 219B SW45k D220 R9080 4500K and the SST20 10W FA4 4000K CRI95. My favorite LEDs are the E21A’s between 2000-4000K. Trying to get something with a rosy tint. Anyone have both? Which would run hotter? I’m guessing the SST20s would be brighter. Which has the highest CRI? Which is throwier? Thanks!

There is not enough output per emitter for the sst20 fa4 to be rosy, but it seems more yellow than green to my eyes which is what most sst20 bins are.

219b for pink tint and red oversaturation, sst20 for accuracy and output, should be throwier but i dont have the same light to check

You were exactly who I was hoping would comment, considering your signature haha

I can handle yellow, though rosy is my favorite. Can’t stand too much green, though. Any idea which would run hotter / ramp down faster? Thanks!

Based on my experience, SST20 would be much more throwy than the 219B or E21A.

I haven’t much experience with the E21A to check whether it is more or less throwy than 219B though.

From what I understand, the SST20 should produce more light output at the same amount of power, compared to the 219B, and the 219B I believe is also brighter than the E21A at the same power consumption. I’m not sure if at max brightness levels (eg. the same top power consumption level for each LED type, but with different max brightness for each), which may be hotter… (I’m guessing maybe smaller LED will be hotter — which would likely be the SST20?)

I did a simple color comparison of 219B, 219C, SST20, E21A LEDs in different flashlights

The 219C 3000k, 219C 4000k & 219C 5000k and SST20 4000k come from Lumintop FWAA (the 219C 5000k is 70CRI, based from what Lumintop says)
The 219B SW45K R9080 from a Fireflies E07.
The E21A 2700k / 4500k / 5000k from Noctigon KR4 or Emisar D4v2

The 219B does look a bit more rosy than the E21A 4500k which just looks more pure white (there’s still a slight rosiness but not as much as the 219B SW45K)

The 70 CRI 219C 5000k looks quite greenish.
Not sure which bin is the SST20 4000k that Lumintop uses for their FWAA.

Awesome comparison!

I’m still torn but… I think I’ll go with the SST20’s. More output, still high CRI, and I’m hoping the FA4 tint is nice.

Thanks all!

Anyone have any feedback of SST20 FA4?

Any comparisson photo with 219B would be perfect

E07X Pro is available to preorder again. Acc to Jack it will be available on 25th October and with upgraded driver compone ts gor even better performace.

Hurry up cause it’s going to be small batch

You must have been right about the small batch, listing is gone in less than 30 days. I see a lot about this light on Reddit, but not here. I'll have to search for the history, bad blood?
