Tint wise, I don’t actually know. Come to think of it, I have no problems with the current LT1 tint. This would help reduce the harshness of having just 4 LEDs.

From speaking to Barry at sofirn, I don’t think sofirn would be willing to do it. They seem to care more about the scale of things compared to Hank or Simon who will custom make anything. Barry is always talking about workers being too busy at the factory.

I might be ineterested in a 16+16 2700k / 5600K but that’s if it’s the actual whole light. As for just the board itself, it depends if I can get someone to fit it for me. How much better will the tint be compared to the original? The LH531Ds are not know for being rosy so I’m guessing these will look a lot better.

I sent a message to DBSAR to see if we can get the exact measurements of the LT1 board. How did you come to those measurements? Did you read them somewhere or did you look at the photograph and estimate it out?

I have a request for someone who has experience and is willing to do circuit board drawings and upload it to Oshpark (as I can not do that)

Here is the LT1 ledboard:

*Outer diameter=60mm
*Central hole=6.3 mm
*Screw holes are 2.8mm (for M2.5 screws) and are 20mm from the middle (or 28mm from each other).
*center of the anti-rotation holes for the plastic cup are 8.5mm from the middle and are 2mmx4mm width/length.

The request is to draw a commonly from Oshpark orderable frp replacement ledboard for 2x20 standard 3030-size midpower leds, so 20xwarm and 20xcool. If the warm and cool leds can be mixed well (as far as the traces allow), the tint mixing of the lantern will profit.

As the midpower leds will receive 100mA per led, I’m pretty sure a metal core board is not needed if you order the board in thin 0.8mm frp and perhaps choose the thicker copper tracing. The board can, like the stock board, be screwed down with some thermal paste in between.

This makes the LT1 suitable for the entire range of available standard midpower leds, including Optisolis, SunLike, and all the others.

Of course if someone dares to have real MCPCB’s for 3030 leds made and sold, that would even be better. But it all starts with the design.

And I sure am in for one of these boards, but the value would be much better for me if it had the combination of 5000K and 2250K Sunlike leds.

so… it is not samsung LH351D what is 3535 size

if 28mm from each other, it is 19.8mm from the center…

no. only 6w 35v COB can be 2200k

Hey BelMOR, do you think it would be possible to move the LEDs closer to the centre of the light? This would help make the glare softer since the light will have more room to spread out before it hits the diffuser

Space is limited but every little bit away from the edge helps

I would like to do this in a group buy format. If we have enough interest for 100 pcs, you would then make a prototype, send it out to someone like Djozz who has the testing equipment to double check that it functions well with the LT1. Once he gives the green light that it’s ready, you would get the boards made, assembled, then list them on your website.

You can add in your fee onto each board (so maybe $1 per board?) to recuperate your costs for designing the boards rather than having one person carry the entire burden for the design fee. I think the $16-17 shipped price is a reasonable price at which people would buy the boards at, are you alright with it?

I would only like this project to go ahead if we can garner enough interest to make it worthwhile for you to make it and sell it at a reasonable cost.

Lately, I have been discussing some ideas with Barry (Sofirn) and DBSAR, among them a (limited) run of a special LT1R with Samsung LH351D 4000K 90CRI and Luminus SST20-DR 660nm. Basically, we would sacrifice standard tint ramping between 5000K and 2700K (LT1) and exchange that by tint ramping between a warm neutralwhite 4000K HighCRI and a true deep red tint with 660nm wavelength. Additionally, this LT1R could be anodized in red color (not discussed with Sofirn yet) to emphasize the unique prop…

And like to ask, if an complete LT1R with already installed SUNLIKE LT1 board might be possible?
I would be definetely interested then. Sure in for 2 copies with 2700K and 660nm red if complete assembled with LT1.

But swapping the existing board out and a new one in with having a useless spare one wouldn’t be for me.
