i remember ordering large backpack from them for review. parcel included some other stuff. NO backpack.
they tried to persuade me that they had sent it and it was stolen. their own invoice got overall weight of what really arrived. so they simply didnt sent it.
i got video with unboxing, i got their own invoic with weight of parcel what i got.
it took me like week of here and there emails to finally "ok, we know we sent it, but you are good customer, we`ll resend it"
Had 4 orders with GB before giving up. I’m lucky I still have my tablet PC because as I tried to deal with their moronic CS on each order I had a strong urge to smash it against the wall out of frustration.
I heard about them about a year ago. I never did go to Gearwest. Actually I did go there one day. It was after lunch and as I was getting up, I glanced at the app on my phone for a whole 12 secs!
I have already turned away from Gearbest for good, see my explanation here. Now, you guys have talked me into even removing their apps from my phone and tablet. :-D
Actually, I did not try yet but I hope it was that easy to wipe my entire account at Gearbest (including e-mail address, shipping address, payment credentials, ...).
They still keep bugging me with mystic gift announcements and that my so precious GB points will soon be rescinded. What's the point in living if I do not finally redeem all my GB points? :-D
Yeah. You can check out any time you like. But you can never leave!
A thing I noticed when (merger issues) I was forced to go to another provider, was that most sellers are reluctant if you want to change your email address. A few years ago BG would allow it, but GB was always very firm. No change possible: please open a new account. So your email address is the lifeline between GB and you. You can either terminate your email address or put GB on the spam list
Seems like they’ve become the new Radio Shack. They used to fill a niche, and fill it well (that’s what she said…), but then wanted to “branch out” into pricier stuff like phones, tablets, etc., and tossed their core group under the bus.
They also were pretty straightforward, but then got into hooks and gimmicks. “Points”, “wallets”, which turned from enticements into refund-methods instead. (RS used to have almost nothing when b&m other’n battery-cards and free flashlights, then online at least offered free shipping over 25bux, now only with “free shipping on orders over 25bux” week, etc.)
Neither one was too annoying with emails, like once every coupla weeks at most, jut as a reminder that they existed, but now they’re begging to be shitcanned as spam with their daily garbage.
And look what happened to RS.
GB was formed… when? Mid-2010s? They keep screwing with customers like that, they’ll be out of business just like RS is begging to be.
I remember when I used to have 2-3 GB orders in the air at any given time, even little crap things like 50¢ usb lights. Then no more good deals, all sorts of hijinx being pulled on people who kept ordering, etc.
No idea when was my last GB order, but nothing was worthwhile anymore, so I just stopped.
