Lumintop BLF GT94 ( 4 x SBT90.2, 1.65mcd ) NOW AVAILABLE @ Neals: code NDGT94 gives $ 150 off

You’re right, they’re hex not torx.

After a bit of trial and error I finally managed to get all 8 to discharge. Turned out I really had to massage each battery in place, screw in the tailcap, massage then screw in again and rinse and repeat till I absolutely can’t screw it in more. All the buttons are in place and all 8 batteries work.

Still I’m considering taking out the sleeves. Holding the batteries in place is the easy bit, lining them up properly takes a bit of effort and there’s no indication whether or not they’re all seated properly. Thanks again!

Yeah, you pretty much have to bottom out the carrier for VTC6 cells, removing the sleeves should make it easier.

And you could try leaving out that floating PCB between the batteries, you remove some battery reverse safety but for me that solved all contact issues. And I found it easy enough to load the carrier into the battery tube without it.

GT94 Smooth Reflector Availability?

What is the latest regarding the replacement reflectors? I've sent emails to Nealsgadgets and Lumintop requesting my replacement reflector and have not received any replies.

Thanks in advance!

I got my SMO reflector from Neal more than a month back.

I have not gotten my smooth reflector yet. Have not emailed them about it either though. Were we supposed to email them?

Thanks for letting me know. I sent Neal another email. I hope to hear from him.

Here's the reply I received back in Oct 2020 from Neal. No replies since.

"Sorry

Lumintop make a mistake

I will send a smooth reflector to you when it is available "

Send him a message via messenger.

Can you please suggest which batteries are best for this light?

High drain button top (or solder blobed) cells, 30q works fine. VTC6 works better.

Thank you very much Texas_Ace.

What batteries do you guys recommend using in the GT94?

I tried using the Molicel 18650 P26A with no success.

Are they button top cells? You need button top cells or you need to add a solder blob to the top of the cells.

Any high drain button top cell capable of handling 15A should work.

Thank you, Texas_Ace. All my 18650 are flat tops.

Any particular in stock battery you recommend?

Adding a solder blob is what I do to all my cells, no idea which cells come in button top.

30q, VTC5, vtc6, hg2 are all cells I have used with good results, none of them were button top though, I just solder blobbed the flat tops.

Sony VTC6 button tops are ideal if you can find any. Samsung 30Q button tops are a very close second best IMO.

I got 16 Sony VTC6 button top 18650 from Adventure Sport Flashlights for my two BLF GT94. They currently show on the website.

I’ve got 22pc of the VTC6 left. Both the vtc6 and the 30q are listed on my new website Lumencraft.com.

I use Molicel P26A with a welded head, do it too, it's quick and easy.

Molicel P26A button top !!!
