Non Flashlight orders/received

I received two of these brass whistles today.

My old whistle quit working, and this new whistle is smaller and much louder than my old whistle.

I never learned how to whistle, so that's why I thought it would be important to have a whistle on my keychain.

Received a Maxpedition baseball cap for about $7 including shipping (local shop).
I believe it’s a new old stock but still worth the pennies!

I tried to fix my laptop, and I killed it!

In step 8 (see above link), I tore one of the ribbon cables that connects the motherboard to the keyboard.

I put my laptop back together, but now my laptop will not turn on.

I contacted a local computer repair company, hoping they can fix my laptop.

If they cannot, I might be in the market for a new PC.

I brought my laptop to the local computer repair company.

It's going to cost $150-$170 to fix it.

(If they cannot fix it, there is no charge.)

I gave them the okay, but I'm feeling pretty poor right now.

Bought 4 new tires for wife’s SUV, and within 5 miles and 10 minutes of leaving the shop, I punctured one of them - it’s beyond repair. :frowning:

If that wasn’t bad enough, the shop is unable to get a replacement for a week, and we are going on a road trip in 2 days. Some luck…

1863-S quarter eagle NGC60.

Finally got my Vanquest Trident 32 GEN3 back pack! For the price of this pack it better hold up for the next 10 years!

I ordered this webcam so that I can do Zoom meetings on my desktop (where there is more privacy.)

Well that sucks! Were you able to go on your road trip?

Yes. Had to do the road trip on winter tires instead - almost 2,000 miles going south in warm weather on soft winter rubber is far from ideal, but I had no other choice.

How is the audio quality when using the built-in mic?

I have an older Microsoft desktop HD webcam, and people always complain that there is echo when I use the built-in mic while using the laptop’s built-in speakers. The mic picks ups the sound from the laptop’s speakers creating echo.

It hasn't shipped yet, but it's supposed to be here on Tuesday.

I'll let you know once I test it out.

THAT one Landed!
LOL

I still haven't tested out my webcam.

Instead, I ordered more stuff.

My sister is going to cut my hair the next time I need a haircut, so I ordered some accessories that we do not have.

A haircutting cape.

And a neck duster (brush).

Fwiw, I used to have long hair, then got “normal” haircuts, then short haircuts, then got buzzed, but lately with the corovirus shutting down places, waiting for them to open up again, having to make appointments, all those annoyances, a friend who buzzes himself asked me why I bother getting it done vs just doing it myself. Couldn’t think of an answer, so started doing exactly that.

I just close off the sink, lean over, buzz away, then clean it out after.

I gotta hop in the shower after. Otherwise I’m itchy no matter what. :confounded:

In the spirit of the thread, I was using the same buzzy thing (shaver? no. clipper? not really, so…) I’d used to “shave” my face, but it says to not use it on hair-hair. Figured out why, as it leaves loose hair snippets in crevices I never knew it even had. So I got a regular hair-type buzzy thing that’s meant for hair-hair.

’Twas a vipon special, must’ve been a while back ’cause it’s not popping up for me in recent-purchases.

Oh, and the erl that goes with it.

After my haircut, I immediately take a shower as well.

A haircutting cape and neck duster keep some hair off my clothes (and myself), so they're a nice touch.

...

Back when I used to cut my own hair, I did it in the bathtub, in the nude, and showered right after.

My haircuts I gave myself weren't very good, and I don't have a bathtub anymore, so now I have other people give me haircuts.

I set up the webcam and tested it out a little.

What I did was create a Zoom meeting with just myself, and I recorded about a minute of it, and then played back the recording.

The video quality seems pretty good.

The audio quality is decent, and luckily there is no echo.

I'll have to do a real Zoom meeting with a family member to see what they think of the audio quality.

I like the light on the webcam.

It has three brightness levels, and it's easy to use.

The first time I used the built-in light, the webcam turned off and I had to unplug it and plug it back in.

Other than that hiccup, I think the webcam is good enough for me, and it was really easy to set up.

(I didn't even read the instructions.)

...

EDIT:

I decided to read the instructions in case I missed anything.

I didn't.

It's basically plug-and-play.

Thanks for the update, RC.
