which high-powered lights use TIR optics?

I like the beam shape that a TIR optic produces (I have 3 such lights), but it seems that most high-powered lights use reflectors. I’d be very interested in a 3- to 5-LED light that uses TIR optics, and produces 5000+ lm. Or, is there a technical reason why TIR optics aren’t suitable in such cases?

I’m also aware of the Astrolux EA01, which I might get, but I’d love a 3-LED version of that.

The Emisar D4SV2 probably comes closest to your criteria. The D4V2 won’t be far off but is smaller.

All of the larger light I have seen use reflectors. I think although I am no expert, the TIR is to improve the performance of smaller lights. Its not better or worse just different. I like both personally.

Manker MK37, a recent one. Not so high output (~5klm) but quite throwy (~900m).

I have the XPL HI 5000K MF01 mini. It’s a nice light. Nothing to really complain about. Also had the original E07 with the same emmiters. Basically the same tint but less throwy and doesn’t have as many 7135 chips or USB C. The new E07X Pro is tempting but I’ve heard it flickers at low levels.

For multi cell light there’s the Astrolux MF01S, Emisar D18, Manker MK36, though none of these light would be able to sustain 5000Lm unless you’re in quite a cold environment

How is the optic on the MK37? Looks like a TIR, no?

Yep. It’s quite powerful for the size, which is similar to the sofirn sp36.
