【ツ】Wurkkos DL70 Teaser [coming soon]

Yeah, I just meant for a longer run before stepping down, sometimes only a small amount brighter for longer is better than max

Agreed, I will forward your suggestion to Mark. But I fear it is too late already to incorporate a mode in between of High and Turbo. Production has already commenced.

Better be using top tier high drain 26650s here… I don’t like the looks of this one with the choice of cell format and 4*50.2.

Oooh, that looks nice!

I sense another winner!

Naw, all the steps are a nice consistent ~3:1, no big jumps.

This is one case where I’d be more comfortable with protected cells in series.

Wonder what’s the current draw in top gear. They’d need to handle at least that much.

The PLB cells Sofirn stocks can handle 20A CDR, but datasheet says 10A max. I tested at 20A and it handled it nicely while only reaching 70°C. Beats most 5000mAh 26650’s out there

Hopefully the driver restricts the current draw to safe levels. But two 50.2s per cell would be a ton of current and too much for anything but maybe a Golisi gold, and likely still at dangerous levels. The ATR should at least intervene and keep the cells safe in air. IDK about underwater.

Another thing to consider with CDR ratings is cell aging. IR goes up with cycles and therefore temperature rise. Abuse the cells repetitively and it can get ugly sooner than you might expect. 5mOhm extra IR can equal tens of degrees C

The Wurkkos DL70 has been listed in Wurkkos.com website

and also in Sofirn's/AliExpress store

Interestingly, I notice a couple of new Wurkkos "DL" diving series flashlights, which doesn't seem to be mentioned yet:

1) Wurkkos DL10R = uses a single XHP70.2 LED ~ 5000k, uses 1x21700 battery, with Low-Med-High magnetic control ring.
(I guess this makes it the "higher brightness but a bit more floody" version of the Sofirn SD05)

2) Wurkkos DL07 = this looks interesting, as it appears to be a re-purposed Wurkkos WK30 -- it uses 1x 26650 battery
( I mention a 're-purposed' WK30 since the WK30 uses 1x LH351D 5000k, 1x LG UV365, 1x XPE red )
the description of the DL07 indicates it has: 4x LH351D 5000k, 1x LG UV365, 1x XPE red; plus 1x XPL-Hi

*specs on the site are incomplete, there's mention of "1000" lumens but unsure if this just refers to the XPL-Hi, or also the 4x LH351D..

The DL70 appears to be the brighter version of the DL40, since both the DL70 and DL40 use 2x 26650 battery and uses 4 LEDs..
the DL40 uses 4x LH351D 5000k whereas the DL70 uses 4x XHP50.2.

DL70 ready stock on Amazon now, 40% off code for BLFers

The main different of DL10R is come with directly USB-C charging port inside the tail switch

I’m not located in the USA (I’m in the Philippines) and am not able to order from Amazon.com

Any discount code available if I purchase from wurrkos.com or Sofirn/AliExpress store?

Can you list wurkkos diving light with USB C rechargable? Or only dl10r for now?

Based on checking Wurkkos 'diving' models lights, I believe it's only the DL10R for now with USB charging.

The other Wurkkos "diving" lights would be the following:

Wurkkos diving series lights (list may not be complete):
WK20 (XPL-HD 3000k)
WK20S (XHP35-HD 5000k)
DL30 (3x LH351D 5000k),
DL40 (4x LH351D 5000k)
DL70 (4x XHP50.2 6000k?? )
DL07 (4x LH351D 5000k, XPL-Hi (cool-white?), red XP-E, UV365)
DL10R (XHP70.2 5000k, built-in USB)

related Sofirn diving lights models (list may not be complete):
Sofirn diving series lights:

SD01 (3x SST40 5000k)
SD05 (XHP50.2 6500k/5000k or SST70 6500k)
SD02 (XPL-HD 5000k??)
SD02A (XPL-HD 3000k)
DF10 (LH351D 5000k)
DF30 (3x XPL-HD 5500k),
DF60 (6x XP-L2 6000k??)
MS11 (3x XM-L2 5500k)

I would say its between 5000K and 6000K - pretty warm form me, as I mostly use cold white tint in my lights.

Thanks for the list d_t_a!

The DL70 has become a go to light for me.

Admittedly, the UI and switch feel take a little getting used to, and I prefer a grippier light (knurling) but the output is better than all my other multi-emitter 4 xhp50 lights, the wider head has better throw than most of them, and the tint is not as cold.

I would love to see a new version of this light in 1x26800, or since I assume the current driver needs the voltage from 2 cells, a 2x26800 tube.

All cells tested over 5500mAh on 1A discharge
I'm getting around 40µA parasitic drain
But what about that tint? 5500K? I didn't see any XHP50.2 3V in spec below 6200K
And to the eye, its closer to 6500K
