Zebralight SC700d – A Short Technical Review (lumens/runtime graphs/temperature/PWM/current draw)

im lovin it!!!

Is the green tint less obvious on the fd model? I tend to notice mine alot lately in the sc700d. Used to my sc64w hi

I wish I had the Fd Model…

The Green is very real on both this 700d, and the Sc600w MK iv Plus.

The 64w HI is a dream, and the one I carry while working to see true whites/colors.

All others in my collection have no green.

I might try the DC fix filter, it would turn it.into a floosy and even out the tint I think.

ive got some, but am just a lil lazy now…

Has anybody had issues with battery fit? I have some samsung 40T I ordered from Fireflies and they are too wide and don’t fit my sc700d. Wondering if anyone else experienced the same.

I have that battery from Zebralight, it fits fine with a slight rattle if I shake it.

Flat top unprotected

Odd, since I used the 40T in my runtime graphs. I suppose there could be manufacturing tolerances in the light, battery, or both.

How old is the Zl? Maybe they added something to stop the rattle, or the 40t is a rewrapped something else? Odd though.

Likely manufacturing tolerances in the batteries. I am not sure if she, but same issue on my sc700Fd with different color anodization.

My 40T rattled slightly (only if tapped firmly, not really if just shaken). I wrapped a single layer of wide masking tape around the cell and it’s solved.

Has anybody recently purchased 21700 batteries that fit in their SC700D. Looking to get a 40T or P42 or Vapcell but worried they won’t fit. The 40T’s I received with my Fireflies order don’t fit in the Zebralight as its too wide.

Do anyone think that zebralights will release a new model soon? The sc700d is starting to be a little old, it is nice to have a xhp70.3 version!

They need to carefully select the greenest 70.3 bins there are before they can move to production

Do you say this because zebralights usually have very green tint on their leds? :stuck_out_tongue:

Usually they have a bad tint yes. They have shown over the years they don’t care about it. Some of their high-cri model were obnoxiously green. Some of their high-cri models appeared to have 80 CRI. I’ve lost my faith in Zebralight when the Mk IV generation came out.

Thank you for the detail. I always thought and read that zebralights are very highly rated. I think because they have good construction quality and good driver. It is surprising to me that they are not as concerned with the tints in the flashlights but maybe most people who are normal flashlight users and not ‘flashaholics’ like us do not concern too much over tints. It seems like a simple thing they can do to improve in my opinion.

What's up with them anyway? All their flashlights are "Back Order" and about half their headlamps are also "Back Order".

probably a combination of global supply chain issues and new cree emitter generation displacing existing one
