I belive the sales of M1 are small because there are no any emitter options.
The only option now is xpl-hi. I would be interested in some hi-cri options like sst20 or lh351d or an osram emitter for a small throwy flashlight.
I think its a very nice design with more thermal mass and throw than a s2+ but not as bulky as c8+.
There are so many emitter options for the bigger 21700 M21b but none for the 18650 M1. Same thing was with T2
I’ve asked this recently and Simon said it will be soon. Few weeks or less. I’m waiting for this LED and the SFT-70 with much anticipation. I plan on doing output testing immediately once I receive them and posting results comparing to HX, SST40, and others.
I mentioned that in another thread. A 3A version would be compatible with most LEDs, and single sided drivers fit the pill in an S2+ using the retaining ring. Simon has an updated 3A driver but it’s the same 7135x8 driver from before with the newer 12 group firmware.
I agree,glad I’m not alone.
From a Mosfet driver 3A is a good amount of current for many single Led 3535 size, where 5A mean many more heat.
Yes single sides perfect to be screwed on S2+ pill.
And the efficiency Is better at lower levels current than AMC
Hope to buy It soon
If it takes regular 26650s, one nice thing to do (especially with those long springs) would be to make the tube just a bit longer so that it could take the new 26800s.
Maybe I’m whining, but it seems to me that the black wire (minus the led) is dangerously close to the edge. In your photo you can even see that the edge of the pcb (battery minus) is connected to the led minus. I’m not saying it is so, but this is how it looks.
Needless to say, it can burn the led, because it will get too much current (direct drive)?
