It’s bad. Real bad. And I think its our fault. It doesn’t matter what crap they make, people still line up to buy it. Here is another thread asking people to commit to buying a light that they know next to nothing about! Haven’t even seen it.
I miss old 4sevens designs and lights that actually have knurling and non-glossy ano that doesn’t look like it came from a gum ball machine. Don’t get me wrong, every now and then a new light comes along that looks great, but gee. Most of everything I see lately is just trashy lookin’. YMMV.
I think its just a really bad 3d model the dimensions don’t make sense like where or how is the LEP module housed etc the 21700 cell itself based on the image seems like it would go into the head of the light.
Totally agree, I’m very interested though I put my interest price a bit on the lower side based on its initial mention of throw I’ll more than likely pick it up regardless of if it exceeds my initial interest price.
Also, I’d like to see an actual image, not just a render, and for performance to be independently verified. If everything looks good, I could be interested. It’s just hard to say without those.
This claims 1Mcd (2000m throw), which is about the same as the unbranded Neal’s/SkyLumen LEP, which has a 45mm bezel.
I’ve noticed that there’s lots of LEPs with 30mm bezels throwing just over 1000m and lots of LEPs with 60mm bezels throwing 2.5km or more. But there’s not many in between. The 45mm bezel of the Unbranded LEP seems to be the only one and looks like a good balance. I’m guessing this Lumintop will be about the same but hopefully even more pocketable.
The solid copper and trits looks very nice but personally I’d prefer aluminium for the lighter weight (and probably lower cost).
How much are trit tubes, $15 each? There’s probably $100+ worth of trit tubes in that thing. It does look nice and pocketable with that 18350 battery. Aluminum would be preferred to reduce weight. The extra bling looks cool but would probably double the price.
