So this is a rewrapped Samsung INR21700-50S, doesn't it?
20A continuous? Seriously? According to HKJ's graph, the cell overheats a bit before full discharge with cut-off at +50°C (this is equal to 75°C with 25°C ambient temperature). Typical maximum allowed cell temperature is 80°C, so… a bit tight, imho.
I see there's been an overall improvement in discharge performance, this is great as it means less heat or energy lost in the batteries as the current flows. However, how about energy density? They better get on it now that there's barely any oil to extract… O:)
If you need capacity, 50G, Molicel M50 or even sofirn’s 5000mA 21700s if you want cheap prices and decent performance seeing as how there’s a shortage of Samsung cells. 40T, Molicel P42A for higher drain. 30T for absolute max output with multi 50.2 fet lights
Well I don’t see it being available in the next 3 months, maybe we’ll get lucky in 6 months or near the end of the year. There’s a major battery shortage going on right now. Check the typical American battery sellers. No stock of a lot of Samsung, LG, Sony cells.
Do you know how much Vapcell does really pay for these cells? Also, do you know of any other place to buy them?
Particularly in these matters their strategy is to hoard and hog the product, and then place over it the price sticker they like. Of course it's not exactly like this, but they do feed out of your addictions. Are you addicted to having to buy the latest whatever, just because it @#$% extra performance which in practice you may not even notice without a measurement device or at all? Do you really need such a thing?
It's been years since I don't see any higher energy density technology. Comparing, for example, the Samsung 35E versus the muuuch newer 50G, there's absolutely no energy density versus mass improvement. What are they waiting for? Are they waiting for… Christmas? :-D
Long ago I heard in the grapevine that the oil wells were drying. And of course, they're dry. There were huge amounts of oil reserves, this is the reason things work. The Covid-19 farce is in part concealing this fact. But the clock is ticking. Do you think the cars of the future are going to be powered with this energy density lackluster battery technology? I know they can, they're selling you the extraordinary performance of electric motors to sell the new electric cars. But if we are to speak about their mileage or range, this cannot hide the obvious fact: it sucks. But well, this is another story…
If it is Samsung cell inside, it will not go lower soon - nkon almost doubled Samsung prices in EU since end 2020…I guess Samsung and the other major brands benefit the boom of the EV.
Recently, the price of batteries has gone up too fast. The unit price of Samsung batteries is almost twice that of the previous ones
The cost price of T50 is also very high. We have no choice but to look forward to more quantity and lower price in the future
