Tesla model 3 2170s

I purchased 150 of these back when they were $62 /25 with cell holders ( never cycled from defective battery packs- they test as new 4750-5000 mah ) —- From my testing with my Sphere they come close to a Samsung 40T in full charge performance — they outperform the 40T substantially in the 3.9 — 3.5 volt range

I’ve built battery packs for Power Wheels — Razor Scooters— they produce some power —- I’m running a E300 Razor scooter at 36 volts —it hits 26 mph — kind of shaky on those 10” tires

That’s what I was hoping. I’ve ordered a few. 3/$12

I’m surprised these are available - but I guess, salvaged from uncycled (defective) packs or stuff like that makes sense. As things are, I don’t think Tesla sells any cells, they all go into cars (or those wall-pack things, or whatever)

Battery Hookup has some

some guy on reddit with an ebay account sold me 10 @ $3 a piece.
work well in my few 21700 lights

Were they rewrapped and clean— Look like new cells

Partial quote from BHU description……“The cells are professionally cleaned, tested, wrapped, and most importantly the positive cap is added which allows you to spot weld these cells just like any other cell.”

Ordered 3 from techdirectclub.com. never heard of that site, but if I get burned it’s only $12 anyway. Good price if they work out.

How much was shipping?

I had some and they tested at about 4800mAh.
The Samsung/Vapcell 50G is better.

Sure, but can they be purchased for a bit over $4 a pop?

Free shipping. Cost was $12 all in. $4 a pop for 50G performance, I’ll take it. But Mooch cautioned that there’s a wide variance in their performance, I guess depending on their salvage history.

What threw me a curve with these cells was their middle voltage output—I stumbled upon it by chance — I had several at storage voltage ( 3.82v) and did some amperage test in a single cell quad light (fet driver) — the output in amperage and lumens were not that far off from a 40T that was around 4.08 v —- after doing Full charge test and around 80 % charge test I realized the Model 3 outperformed the 40T in the below 3.95 v range — also these cells when doing a capacity test hold a majority of their capacity above 3.45 volts

Any idea if these would be genuine Tesla Model 3 21700? (one of them indicates “LDTSL ZS48T”)

Based on my capacity test results (using SkyRC MC3000, charge to 4.20v, discharge down to 2.50v at –0.75A discharge current), I get around 4700+mAh capacity on them.
AC IR measures to around 11.9mOhms at around 3.70v (shipped voltage is around 3.70v)

Looks like Model 3 to me —The 3 marks on the neg end —— I haven’t discharged that low —my Opus stop at 2.8/2.9 v

Just bough three from techdirectclub. Shipping was free.

where did you buy it and how much?

I just ordered 3 from Tech Direct Club for $11.99 & FREE shipping.

They were cheaper at Battery Hookup , $9.75 for 3… BUT the only shipping option was FedEx for $16.24 :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

A bit steep when only ordering three… :money_mouth_face: :person_facepalming:

I ended up getting 100 from batteryhookup. Anyone deal woth these sellers before and what their experiences were? Also is there a bug difference between the 4800 and 5000 or are they essentially the same?

I’ve ordered from batteryhookup a few times. I haven’t had any problems at all
