Partial quote from BHU description……“The cells are professionally cleaned, tested, wrapped, and most importantly the positive cap is added which allows you to spot weld these cells just like any other cell.”
Free shipping. Cost was $12 all in. $4 a pop for 50G performance, I’ll take it. But Mooch cautioned that there’s a wide variance in their performance, I guess depending on their salvage history.
What threw me a curve with these cells was their middle voltage output—I stumbled upon it by chance — I had several at storage voltage ( 3.82v) and did some amperage test in a single cell quad light (fet driver) — the output in amperage and lumens were not that far off from a 40T that was around 4.08 v —- after doing Full charge test and around 80 % charge test I realized the Model 3 outperformed the 40T in the below 3.95 v range — also these cells when doing a capacity test hold a majority of their capacity above 3.45 volts
Any idea if these would be genuine Tesla Model 3 21700? (one of them indicates “LDTSL ZS48T”)
Based on my capacity test results (using SkyRC MC3000, charge to 4.20v, discharge down to 2.50v at –0.75A discharge current), I get around 4700+mAh capacity on them.
AC IR measures to around 11.9mOhms at around 3.70v (shipped voltage is around 3.70v)
I ended up getting 100 from batteryhookup. Anyone deal woth these sellers before and what their experiences were? Also is there a bug difference between the 4800 and 5000 or are they essentially the same?
I’ve dealt with Battery Hookup on several occasions —Some good Some bad —- They always make good on my purchases —- I test everything I buy from sellers when it comes to mah and lumens ——lots of inflated numbers flying around —— Of the 150 Tesla cells I purchased from Big Battery ( Tech Direct Club / same guy) most cells tested 4750-4850 with a few hitting in the 4900s —- I also had a few in the 4600s
Your capacity test numbers also match the LDTSL 21700 or Model 3 21700 batteries I got, anywhere from around 4600+ to 4900+ mAh, but most are in the 4700-4800+ mAh.
The aforementioned (LDTSL or Model 3 21700) 21700 batteries sourced from a local seller in our country, whether the battery is labeled “4800mAh” or “5000mAh” or doesn’t have a capacity mAh label…
