Will the C8+ 18350 tube work with the original C8?
Is the thread form of the C8+ the same as the original C8?
My supplier first said “early April”, then “mid-April”, and now told me “late April”.Oh ,damn…. I am very melancholy.
I am very hesitant.
Because more and more buyers will choose 21700 flashlight

Simon when for a 3A version of your 17mm mosfet linear driver?
I like them,single side,efficiency than AMC based

A sense resistor mod should allow 3A to be easily achieved.

I mentioned that in another thread. A 3A version would be compatible with most LEDs, and single sided drivers fit the pill in an S2+ using the retaining ring. Simon has an updated 3A driver but it’s the same 7135x8 driver from before with the newer 12 group firmware.

I agree,glad I’m not alone.
From a Mosfet driver 3A is a good amount of current for many single Led 3535 size, where 5A mean many more heat.
Yes single sides perfect to be screwed on S2+ pill.
And the efficiency Is better at lower levels current than AMC
Hope to buy It soon

This is 3A driver ,it has constant current and temp control. how about this?
Seem different layout with a lot of resistors, is affordable? Was enough get 3A by change the R010 sense resistor from the stock 3V 5A Driver?
Guys, i need your help to determine what resistor to order for purpose of lowering max output. Driver is 17mm 5A 12group and i would need 4A and 3A (have 3ea). I meassured resistor dimenssions 3.35x2.65mm roughly and written R010 which gives 5000mA now. The story behind is that i’ve got colored S2+ Osrams and green is running great but yellow-orange and especially blue Osram is going to fry. My idea was to lower amps on blue to 3A and on amber to 4A instead of 5A originally. [image]
Wish It came also with “Biscotti” FW

Awesome!
If it takes regular 26650s, one nice thing to do (especially with those long springs) would be to make the tube just a bit longer so that it could take the new 26800s.

Maybe I’m whining, but it seems to me that the black wire (minus the led) is dangerously close to the edge. In your photo you can even see that the edge of the pcb (battery minus) is connected to the led minus. I’m not saying it is so, but this is how it looks.
Needless to say, it can burn the led, because it will get too much current (direct drive)?
The devil is in the details.

You say it yourself; edge is the ground plane. Black wire and edge are connected by copper under the silk screen.
Typically the battery + is directly connected to the LED anode. If the black wire shorted to the edge ring (which is physically connected to the battery -) the would the LED not short directly across the cell, bypassing the driver entirely?
Guess it depends on where the MOSFET is located in the circuit.
Do the new 3A drivers have a constant frequency or alternating frequency strobe?

Where?
black wire (minus the led) (…) edge of the pcb (battery minus)
They are connected from the outside with a small amount of tin. Look on the photo.
