Fireflies NOV-MU 21*Nichia E21A mule 1x21700 Flashlight --in stock

The Vapcell T50 would be my choice, but it would be my choice for just about any 21700 light.

Yep me too Vapcell T50 is my choice for every 21700 light right now.

Anybody else experiment with aspheric lenses for their nov-mu? This person fitted an aspheric lens on his, and got a little more focus out of it without much sacrifice to beam uniformity it looks like.

I just ordered a 4500k nov-mu, and also ordered one of those aspheric lenses to play around with.

Don’t bother, it hardly has an effect. It’s too close to the LED, won’t fit right, lose water/dustproofnes, etc. I couldn’t even tell the difference.

This is the one you want. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001632207307.html

Get a few of the 29mm since they’re plastic so easier to scratch. The fit is perfect, the result is a bit more focused beam but the tint-shift is more prominent.

So 29mm over 28mm?

Yes. I got a whole bunch of them and the 29mm fits best.

Tom, skv
Thanks.

The vap t50/ sam 50s is a unicorn. I agree with your assessment, but it would arrive middle july—maybe. And 25$ not clear on whether that is 1 cell or a pair. Impressive battery. But, cost benefit analysis + arrival date makes it something i will look into later. Been awhile since i shopped batteries. Looks like molicell m50a or samsung edging a hair with the the 50g. (Per mooch) lights are ~2 weeks out. I cannot imagine t50/50s showing up available before then. Sooo, probably put that on the want list and grab some 50g’s.

Will get the unicorn when it makes its way to illumn/imr/liion. Unless you can point me to another reputable shop stateside that carries them.

Thanks for the input.

Followup: are you aware of an amp ceiling for this light. I mean can
i put a 30t in it or will that kill it?

I no longer work in the field so it occurs to me it is not very complicated for me to have spare cells on the bench and swap out as needed. Been doing this for awhile. Not nearly as bad as having a holster with 4 cells in it pulling your britches down.

So, having a sense of recommended upper limit might have me go in a slightly different direction, i.e. 30t, p42a. I dunno. Seems like once every other year i upgrade lights and have to go thru cost bennys on cells all over again.

Thanks.

Oh, and back to use case. The lights would be in 70°f, constant on. So whatever that spot is where it all settles down might probably be where i want them. Ff site claims ~1100lumen for a ~3hours. Also a thermal step down point. So i suspect will be aiming for best way to stretch 1100 lumens over time. T50/50s unicorn best, but still a unicorn. Any thoughts on usa available cells?

30T will not harm the 21 E21A emitters.

You did measure a lower intensity using a 30T which shows the E21As are probably in the point of diminishing returns at such a high voltage. I’d recommend a 40T or less powerful.

The output with the 30T is slightly higher but it’s not worth the loss in runtime.

Sorry, I misremembered :person_facepalming: You’re right, and the difference probably wouldn’t be noticeable to users’ eyes.

Finally i got my Trackingnumber from Jack :+1:

Today I received a flashlight ordered in December. Longest shipping in my shopping expirience)

But it seems to be broken . From 25% output and higher it flickering and buzzes. Or is it normal work of this Lume driver?

Only supposed to flicker at lowest settings

Thanks . I just checked mine flicker at lowest settings and at >25%. :person_facepalming:

Lume :rage:
I took a flashlight for photo and video.
Constant current- constant current …

Yes, something looks wrong. There shouldn’t be flickering or pwm in any of the modes except for the lowest few steps.

My NOV-MU also buzzes and flickers if I use poor quality 18650 cell. It worked fine when I used 40t or other high drain 21700 cells.

If your light is behaving that way with high drain cells then something must be wrong.

I use new fully charged Samsung 50E . At 3A it begin buzzes and flickers.
FET mod consumption 18A .
