I was thinking the same thing :+1: , and if it could come with the new style 2way clip (the old style sucks) and in any other color than boring black…. :sunglasses:
Times are bad my friend... Factories cannot too afford to have too much unsold products in the inventory. I predict most flashlight manufacturers would scale down their collections or new releases in the coming months. I wouldn't be surprised if manufacturer announce their exit too. Hopefully, situation would improve by this July.
Has anyone else noticed a major, hard stepdown on Turbo mode on this model? I have the FW3A, FW21 Pro, FW X9L, FWAA but none of these models reduce their output within the first 3-6 seconds that much.
I have observed this behavior on two identical FW3X with XP-L HI V2 3A. Both lights were calibrated to 21°C room temperature when cold and to 55°C stepdown temperature. I used a fully charged VTC6 battery. The flashlight heads got barely handwarm after the first turbo run but significantly hot after several turbo runs.
According to my observation there’s either a hardcoded, timed output reduction after some seconds or the temperature sensing in the Lume1 driver seems to be oversensitive. Bottom line: Turbo mode seems more or less unusable in the FW3X and a big disappointment. :-(
I ordered an FW3X, have some question about this flashlight:
What is the optic used on the FW3X?
On the original FW3A, it uses Carclo 10511 optic.
the image below shows my (one of the earliest batch of FW3A, with Carclo 10511 optic installed)
(left side = FW3X ; right side = FW3A with Carclo 10511)
It seems from the picture that the FW3X optic is a bit clearer than the one on my old FW3A… or it could be that my FW3A’s optic is old so it’s not so “clear”?
(I just remembered there is a Turboglow installed on this old FW3A, so it may have made the optic look more ‘frosted’?)
I have a reference picture before of 3 different optics on the FW3A, but I’m not sure if the one on the FW3X is the 10507 or 10511…
(10507 is notably ‘very clear’)

side note:
Using Anduril version check function, the Anduril version installed on this FW3X is 2020-02-24.
(I don’t see this Anduril version date in Toykeeper’s Anduril firmware repository though, which means will need to ‘save’ the pre-installed firmware in case I try to flash to another applicable firmware…).
