Massive post on where to get lithium-ion batteries everywhere in the world! Look at Post 2-5 for info, And Canada Post 123

yes, you have to pick the right stores

Skip that above post. Just checked prices again, today. $13.50 for a regular flat-top 30Q. Looks like it’s back to ridiculous Canadian pricing.

Have any Australians purchased from Ecocell? https://ecocell.com.au/
Unfortunately my favourite Aussie li-ion retailer (supersports600) seems to not be selling unprotected batteries at the moment.

I’ve been buying steadily from these guys. Had no issues, quick postage. LANplus Australia Pty Ltd | eBay Stores

Seems like something is wrong with 18650 Canada https://www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/mo8g6q/18650canada/

18650batterystore is pulling out of the Vapcell brand due to major quality control issues. Had a wee chat with them after my order of 159pcs K30 had 39pcs with high self discharge.

I won’t ever be buying anymore of Vapcell again

I was looking forward to this arriving at Illumn. Guess I’ll have to ask them about testing their shipment when it arrives.

Did you order Vapcell INR 18350 F14? I was also waiting for this to arrive at Illumn. If the QC isn’t good for their batteries, I might just order the old Vapcell 18350, M11 I think?

Illumn won’t be able to check their shipment when each battery has a plastic wrap covering the positive and negative.

Just the K30, but 18650BS are considering to discontinue stocking the entire range due to bad QC.

They first treated me like a newbie telling me that the discharged ones just needed a charge, but mentioned Mooch confirmed they had high self discharge and that he was looking into it, their response changed immediately to “sorry, and we have also noticed poor QC, and refunded me within minutes” haha

I also mentioned that some were as low as 2.08v and they responded saying it was due to shipping regulations and they ship at 30%. I was shocked at that response

I said, so you’re telling me that 2.08v is 30%? :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm, I always thought they were “A” grade re-wraps. Good to know.

Disappointing to hear as Vapcell has the M11 and F14 18350’s I’m interested in. Besides Keeppower I don’t think there’s anyone else making a competing product.

Does anyone know about Full Battery

They have good prices on NCR18650GAs and have some interesting items. But when I tried to contact them, I didn’t get a reply which is a bad sign to me.

Yeah. If they don’t response to contact, I’d doubt their pure legitimacy.

I think they generally are, but it’s easy to copy a wrap.

U.K.

Fogstar for batteries, they batch test and send out the cells in plastic tubes even if bulk buying. Deal mainly with high requirements for vaping, which fits our bill here very well indeed for the likes of the FW3 and Emisar lights we need to run.

Blog on fakes:

In a recent thread on here about Sofirn battery vent holes being rough around the edges and causing damage to someone’s connections, I can’t find it now, but it’s a classic example of seconds being sold as firsts.

I’m currently getting the run around from them. I ordered some 18650s and 14500 cells from them last week. They sent me a vague message stating that 14500s cannot be shipped to Canada. When I asked about the 18650s they stated that those are ok as they put them in cheap lights. I asked them about doing the same with the 14500s and they said they “don’t have ANY AA lights”

I also inquired if they could just ship them in the plastic storage box that they have in the photos. No dice.

They then replied with the following which I’m not really sure how to respond.

“Batteries need use other shipping carrier to ship. And shipment is not good for battery”

“14500 batteries cannot ship with other itesm in your order. Shipping fee is too high for batteries and it needs longer time to arrive, around 25 days even loger.”

I’m already getting the 18650s from them so I don’t understand how this is an issue. They are already shipping batteries. So I’m assuming they have to use this special shipping carrier regardless and the shipping fee has already been factored into the price.

At this point I’m sufficiently annoyed with them that I might just have them cancel the entire order.

Best to remove Banggood from the list now as fakes have been received on many occasions

Nice to have a list of legit sources…. now just need them to stock up! :frowning:

That’s good to know, I’m looking for a good source here in the UK… I see that they sell Vapcell but I’m not so sure after reading the post about their QC

All Vapcell’s that are rewraps are of course decent, sometimes there’s a problem with some models. My K30’s were terrible, but they admitted the new batch would be improved. The high capacity 26650 was also terrible, but the G53 I have of theirs performs really well. I purchased 60 of them

@PiercingTheDarkness, thank you, will do so.
