After a little advice,I’m looking for a cheap semi decent light for keyring type use pref USB charging.
I’ve got a range of decent lights but I’m after some clone knock off type of level budget just for work bags that if they are lost or stolen I won’t burst into tears and have to risk divorce by resupplying high cost items .( this thing ive had it years)
Any links or suggestions most welcome, im only illuminating a pack interior or keyhole at night
There are a few different aluminum 10180 lights with built in micro-USB chargers. I have the titanium versions which cost a bit more so I’m not sure which models come in aluminum. Check banggood for 10180 flashlight for a start. I know Olight has one but it’s probably a bit overpriced, except when it gets thrown in as a freebie for some sales.
I have a bunch of the Olight ones, they are rechargeable, really bright for there size maybe 200lm. But I guess they would be $15-20usd, i haven’t bought one just gifted them in sales.
No need to hold the key with one hand while lighting up the area with the other, or having an extra doodad hanging off your keychain, etc.
I got one with a non-replaceable battery, so the one in the pic is evidently better (vs making a new key), and I’ve had mine for years and it’s still going strong.
And in a pinch you can still light up the inside of a bag, etc. Like 0cri, but for just that purpose, who cares?
If you want something simple, cheap, bit oldschool, that won’t burn your eyes out and have wide 100 deg. angle, then 11 bucks Nitecore Tube v.2 may me good choice (or 9$ for v.1). https://www.amazon.com/NITECORE-Rechargeable-UltraLight-Keychain-Flashlight/dp/B07YNZ529H
Comes in many colors as well. I think Tube is a bit underrated in the era of modern LEDs.
And just to second what was mentioned above, the Oilight i1R v2 whatever, is pretty nice. No idea of its street price, as I got a couple on a promo, making it even nicer.
They’re CW but without being horrible, threads are buttery smooth, and operation is damned nice with the 2-stage switch (also look into Wuben E-series keychain lights for similar 2-stage switches). And the v2 has a captive head vs the v1 which I read (review also mentioned above) could fall off it untwisted.
120 lemons on high and 5-10 on low is a pretty handy and to me just about perfect.
