Need help Identifying a 18650

Do you have any clue as to what brand/model this 18650 is?

I find them in solar garden lights i buy on AE:

I currently have one on test in my Opus BT-C3100. I’ll post results when i get them.

With or without the picture, it will be hard to do as companies rewrap cells. So it may say vapecell on it but it’s really a Sony. In the case of a fraudulent cell, there is really nothing you can and should trust about it. If you did not buy from a reliable source, it’s just a poker game where the odds are against you.

Cell is pink, looking like a brand cell with some printing.
It says:

18650 - 3.7V - 7.4Wh

I can see those, but in the OP, there are no pics.

SZNS is a Chinese cell — I’ve found those in single cell phone chargers — rechargeable lights etc —-pretty much junk —most of the time they test under rated capacity —I had one burn up a channel on my Mi Boxer charger —since then I don’t bother with them at all

That’s kind of scary… Anyone can confirm?
I’m not too worried though. So far they do a good job on those garden lights. Just curious what they are.
However, if they are that bad i may have good reasons to replace them… Almost thirty of them actually. :person_facepalming:

Hi. thats chinese battery. I have disassembled my lenovo laptop battery ordered from aliexpress- it did have the same batteries. Made in china with china local company as i understand.

Depending on your climate I suppose — Li-ion isn’t really good for hot applications (sunlight / solar) I’d just see how they last —they’re outside right
I see you had one on a tester — how did it measure —- The ones I’ve tested had high resistance

The Opus BT-C3100 reported a 2170mAh capacity @.5A discharge. Not sure down to what voltage though.
No idea about IR. That should not matter for this application as it does not need high amps.

I’ll run them out anyway and see what to do then, depending how those lights survived. Sometime it’s worse replacing the cells, sometime not. The nice thing about those lights is the cells are easy to replace - no soldering.
