I recently got a Astrolux K2 via the excellent group buy here.
I’m very pleased with the torch apart from the (impossible to find in the dark) switch.
I modded mine very simply by putting a drop of superglue on the switch and then,
carefully, covering this with baking soda. This dries to a hard lump that you will be
able to feel in the dark. It also makes the switch easier to press.
Don’t worry about it wearing off easily as I made the mistake of putting a drop of superglue
on the charging cover with my first attempt, and had a devil of a job picking it off.
Good idea. I recently used a super glue/baking soda mix to fix my lap top hinge. I was surprised how strong it is. I am not sure if the baking soda simply adds body or if it actually increases the strength of the bond but it is strong.
Great idea. How do you apply the baking soda? Must be tricky to do it neatly with the “wet” superglue.
Yes it’s a strange, but it does seem to make a tough mixture. I’ve tested it in the past to see if it is still water soluble when mixed up and it’s not,
so there must be some kind of chemical change when they are combined. Perhaps some of our more scientific members can explain it more?
The drop of superglue stayed as a ‘bead’ on the switch. I then just got a pinch of baking soda and springled it on top and repeated a few times until it was well covered. I didn’t want to dump a load on incase I shifted the superglue, sprinkling it between my pinched fingers worked fine. I then left it overnight to set and brushed off the unwetted baking soda in the morning, leaving a hard little bump on the switch.

I use grip tape on switches that need something for “location feeling”. A standard hole puncher makes them the right size for virtually all of my flashlights.
