Coronavirus **personal experiences** thread

Had my first Astra-Zeneca jab two weeks ago. No impact to me other than a slightly sore upper arm for a day.

Would it have been nice to get the ‘Cadillac version’ Pfizer vaccine? Maybe. Was I willing to wait potentially months more to get it? No.

My $0.02: Any vaccine you get is a good one.

I wasn't aware that Astra-Zeneca was approved in the U.S. yet.

I don’t think USA is the only country with a west coast.

Oops!

LOL, that could happen to anyone, RC.
Anyone American that is.
We’re pretty sure when “west coast” is mentioned, it’s us. :smiling_imp:

Thanks SB. It was a rough few weeks, and happened as i was preparing to move across the country. But i fought it, and still here to keep enjoying what i do!

Any lingering side effects?

Finally got scheduled at Walmart, anybody have thoughts about whether I should wait for my general practitioner to get the supplies?

IMHO I’d go for it. With a high turnover it’s likely that the Walmart vaccine will be hot of the presses.
No telling how long the doc’s will have been traveling through the system.
All the Best,
Jeff

All things being equal I’d take it at the first place that I could get a shot. However I would wait maybe a few weeks if it meant getting the J&J later as opposed to the Moderna or Pfizer. The reason is that the J&J trialed when there were more variants around than the other 2. The fact that it’s a single shot is a plus but not as much as the other reason I stated.

But in the end getting a vaccine is the most important thing in my opinion,

Still struggling here, really haven’t gotten any better since January and my walking and eyesight have gotten worse, not to mention the brain fog. But I was intubated for 3 weeks and in the hospital for 2 mos. so I feel lucky to be alive. Long Haulin is a real thing.

Sorry to hear that. Some people got better after the shots but I guess not everyone. The single thing I take from all this is how the virus passes over some people and others it rips a new one. Hopefully time will correct your problems.

in my case its getting better. i still have a bit of a dry cough it seems, but everything else is back to normal. ( i hope.

Some good news on the covid treatment front. Israel has been testing an inhaled drug that calms the immune system. This story is from Feb. but it was on the news this week reporting good results.

Here is a more current report:

So whut’s the deal with India? Why’re they dropping like flies all of a sudden?

And in Israel they were packed so tight (saw clips, almost no one was masked) that they got stampeded?

The pendulum swinging waaaaaaaaaaay back to the “who gives a sheet?” side now?

Even if NYC is gonna “open up” soon, I think I’m still gonna stay inside.

Israel is almost completely vaccinated I think. I know they were ahead of us at one point.

This was the proverbial San Andreas Fault of Israel. The if was no question. Just the when
Only too sad because this one could have been prevented. There were warnings enough.

Did you mean India here?
