Still struggling here, really haven’t gotten any better since January and my walking and eyesight have gotten worse, not to mention the brain fog. But I was intubated for 3 weeks and in the hospital for 2 mos. so I feel lucky to be alive. Long Haulin is a real thing.
Sorry to hear that. Some people got better after the shots but I guess not everyone. The single thing I take from all this is how the virus passes over some people and others it rips a new one. Hopefully time will correct your problems.
Some good news on the covid treatment front. Israel has been testing an inhaled drug that calms the immune system. This story is from Feb. but it was on the news this week reporting good results.
This was the proverbial San Andreas Fault of Israel. The if was no question. Just the when
Only too sad because this one could have been prevented. There were warnings enough.
Maybe I conflated two separate issues. First was people in India suddenly dropping like flies like they were playing ookie-mouth the weeks before. And second was people in Israel packed together like sardines in a Superspreader-From-Hell event.
The latter, I vaguely heard something about a wall starting to crumble, which is what started the stampede, yeah, but being packed in like that in the first place, vaccines or not, was kinda stoopit, no?
What’s happening in India is basically what happened initially in Wuhan, Italy, and NYC. India has reached the tipping point where there are more severe cases than available medical care. Once that happens, the death rate jumps because people who could survive with proper medical care are turned away. In NYC and Israel it’s based off vaccinations.
Just like here in NC. The governor has stated that he intends to lift all social distancing and capacity restrictions (and hopefully all outdoor mask requirements) on June 1, as long as vaccination and other metrics stay on track. Even though we haven’t reached herd immunity yet, state officials feel that we’ll be stable enough that our medical care can handle the current levels. At 67% partially vaccinated, the mask mandate will be dropped completely.
I get the running-out-of-medical-care part, but, like, why now? Did they get spring fever and go out’n’about and spread the bug that way? Unless maybe that balloon was still filling and filling and filling all this time and just took ’til now to pop.
Around here, the d-bags are rousing from their Winter Slumber and revving up their motorcycles (riding them up’n’down both ways on a one-way street, yet), so you know they’ll be firing up their grills and packing 50 people into one backyard for Superspreader Sunday. :person_facepalming:
Although I suspect some of my current problems may possibly be associated with CTE (25years). Some of the symptoms are similar and having Covid may have exacerbated some of the those symptoms I previously had and continue to have with CTE. I know both affect the brain……
