Review - Astrolux EC03 3xXHP50.2 6700 Lumen Flashlight

I would also like to know where to buy the 50e2 batteries. Thanks After some research I find that the 50e is noted as being e2 on my liion order. Check out Liion wholesale.com.

Liion wholesale only lists the 50e. Have you received the “50e2” yet?

I believe that the 50e that is sold on liion site is the e2. Go to site and read description carefully. I would like to know how you interpret it. If you google Samsung 50e2 you will find they are 50e’s.

“We have the new Samsung 50E2 which is the second version of the Samsung 50E. It is vastly improved in performance over the version 1 50E, with much lower internal resistance which will help the 50E deliver more capacity at a wider range of loads.”

But the one they sell is the 50e. Confusing!

Yes it is confusing. I recently bought these from liion. Isent an email to them with our question. Will post when I receive an answer.

OK, thanks

From Britni Anderson support@liionwholesale.com. “Yes all of our current 50e stock is 50e2” Now we know the rest of the story. Mark

Great, now they should make that clear for all potential buyers.

Just wondering, is Samsung 50E2 better (in terms of higher drain) or similar to the Samsung 50G (eg. Vapcell G50)?

Just got this 50E notification from 18650 Battery Store. They enthusiastically say it has just come in and say nothing about 50E2. I can’t find any reference to or images of 50E2 on Google. Frankly, I’ll believe it when Tinman says “I received them”.

The wait is over!
Good news - Samsung 50E 21700 5000mAh 9.8A Battery is now back in stock. Grab it before it’s gone!

*50E back in stock

My batteries from liion look just like those from 18650 store. So I could find no reference to e2 in my google search either. Maybe we should ask 18650 store if their batteries are e2. Mark

Just looked closer at their sales page for them. 50 (2) is what it reads in description. I guess they changed battery chemistry but not wrappers? The batteries tested very well so I guess that’s all that matters.

When are you expecting to receive them?

I have them. I should have made that clearer. Received them just prior to my first post on the subject. I sent and received email about my order. That was response l posted from liion. Mah was 5000 or above from Opus. Buy a few and try them.

When you tested them were the numbers significantly better than the 50E’s, and do they outperform the 50E’s in any noticeable ways?

They are the only ones I have.

OK

Hi all, new here

I understand I can run this light while charging.
My EBIKE motor has a light output (limited to 12V@2A=24W).
Will it make any sense to connect this light to a 5V@3A feed (plan on using 12v to 5v step down to charge phone) to extend runtime at high lumen output?
What current draw should I expect at approx. 3500-4500lm constant? alternatively - what is the expected runtime at this output, and will 15W charging increase it by much?

Trying to figure out whether to make the efforts of connecting it to the bike’s power to extend time with high lumens.

Thanks all

Any thoughts on this?
I need a bar light, so mostly flood, over 3500lm continuous, that can run while charging as I need run times of over 2 hours.

I recently received an EC03 that I ordered from the Sofirn web site. It appears to be identical to the astrolux model reviewed here (which is not really a surprise since it is reported elsewhere that Sofirn makes these for Astrolux). It is currently for sale on the Sofirn site for around $50.

I find this to be an excellent back yard light - enough throw to see anything in my back yard (and across several neighbors yards), with enough spill to see a wide swath. It would also be great for night-time walks. It produces lots of light even at mid-levels, and is blinding on turbo.
