That sounds like a good plan. I dont see any reason it wouldnt work. And if you do like you wrote and leave the edge same height as the middle section it should remain structurally strong.
This said without me having one of these. I never bought one because I could not find a review
I was wondering if this charger will be able to fit the Xtar 18700 batteries. Also, does it come with an AC adapter or can I just plug it into my computer/cell phone charger? I am thinking about getting this over the Xtar MP1. Thanks.
Just remember that it will only charge at 500mA from a computer connection but will charge at 1A from an electrical outlet (assuming your A/C to USB adaptor handles 1A+ output). I bought some of these Apple type A/C to USB adaptors to use with it (not yet tested).
I've tested and it charges at 1A from my PC. Then again, my PC's motherboard has a feature called "3x USB power" so it might have something to do with it.
What is the full name of your MB? I've read that some USBs have been modified with charging purposes in mind. Could it possible do 1.5A max, as in 500mAx3?
Most laptops and PC's with usb 2.0 will only give out up to 500 ma (0.5 amp). 0.5 amp is good for 18650's but no good for 26650 IMO then once you buy the added adaptor the cost is way to high for a charger that will not fit protected 26650's. But you could use a iphone 4 or a ipad power supply as they give out 1 to 2 amp.
But wouldn't you be better off with some thing like this for 26650,s at 1.5 amp
I ordered this charger (and lovin it) from Hank but forgot to get the spacers to charge 14500, anyone know a free shipping drop seller that sells appropriate spacers? I’m guessing these aren’t suitable, thanks!
If you buy something else of Hank (a product offers free shipping), you can write him an email or a PM to add the spacers and you will pay them with the rest of the order.
The magnets of Kaidomain will also work, but the size is 0,1cm. You need some more as ten for the charger.
Another option would be a thicker screw and you cut off the tip or you use some coins (I don’t know, if Australia has any copper coins?)
When LED is green and under charger still glows red means it’s charged? Or does the red glow underneath have to turn off aswell? Batteries can be hotswapped in these chargers? Or do I have to disconnect usb charger everytime? thx
Galaxy S3 needs only 1A, that’s not high current by today standards (2.1A is) It works fine, but it’ll charge a little bit slower than from wall charger.
