What high drain 26650 for the Astrolux EA01s?

I have an Astrolux EA01s in the mail right now, and I’m not to sure which 26650 to buy. I would prefer a more powerful battery over a high capacity one.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Check Orbtronic.

The Shockli used to be good

used to be?

Who are the primary manufacturers of 26650 batteries ?

I bet if molicell makes 26650s in Taiwan, they would be good.

I’m not sure, I don’t do such a good job of keeping up with which cells are good and which aren’t

Golisi, iJoy, or Aspire
If you can get on Facebook, look up the guy Mooch, he tests all kinds of battery sizes.
The vape guys practically consider him God.
You cannot go wrong with any of the 3 I mentioned. I use Golisi.

Thanks man. How many amps do you think the EA01s draws?

Not sure, but if you went for the XHP-50.2 LED’s it’s going to draw more than the SST-40’s
That light can also take 21700’s.
The widely regarded high drain top dog for that battery size is the Samsung 30T

Golisi S43 (gold)

Keeppower 6000mAh unprotected (PLB-55A cell)

Shockli 5500mAh (PLB-55A cell)

Vapcell 26650 5500mAh 20A red (PLB-55A cell)

Vapcell K64 (unfortunately, out of stock now but coming back)

Depends on the leds. I use 30T with XHP50.2 for maximum current, this flashlight is among the ones that can take highest currents. If you really want 26650 use the Golisi 4300 gold; HKJ tests show it is the best for high currents (except maybe for the K64 but this is not available now).

I am not sure if the G53 is enough battery for you but it got good reviews

So if you had a choice between a 30T and the Golisi gold, which one would you choose?

Personally I would go for longer run time. The heat build up is so quick that a few extra lumens is short lived any way.

Thanks! So I guess the big question is how many amps do I need in a battery? Is 20A enough? Or should I go for the full fat 32A?

Here you can compare between the Shockli and the 30T

Normally I use the 30T. It discharges fast but it’s not a problem for me. I even have a spare one in the same pocket, just in case. However now that I’m in the “coronajail” I don’t need turbo, so I use a 26650; it doesn’t even need to be the Golisi, I use an Efest and only charge to 4.15V instead of 4.2V…
