Non Flashlight orders/received

Thanks for the update, RC.

I broke a pair of craft scissors yesterday that I bought back in 1994.

I decided that I wanted to get at least 3 pairs of craft scissors for $12 or less from Amazon.

I found these for $8 (with an Amazon Prime account) and ordered them today.

My sister currently has Prime, so I used her account.

Not only are the scissors handsome, but they have pretty good feedback for inexpensive scissors.

I received the scissors today.

They are very nice and they are made by iBayam.

That company has similar scissors on Amazon with a lot more feedback.

The similar scissors work for about 80% of left-handed people, according to Amazon feedback.

And I am happy to report that the iBayam scissors that I just got work for my niece, who is left-handed.

So now my family has some excellent scissors (for a change.)

About my webcam:

I did my first real Zoom meeting with it today.

I was told that the audio was fine, and I could tell by myself that the video was great.

The light on the webcam can be off, low, medium, or high.

When the light is on high, the video glitches, so it's best for my webcam to not have the light on high.

(I actually had the light off as I didn't really need to have it on.)

The webcam is good enough (for me) for Zoom meetings.

I have similar problems with my webcam, the light either flickers or makes the video glitch or lag.
Recently I bought a video light: 淘宝网 - 淘!我喜欢

Suddenly everyone could see me in meetings. WFH won’t end anytime soon for us anyway.

That light looks pretty good.

If I thought I needed more light for Zoom meetings, I would get something like that.

Got this hammer/multitool for father’s day. Pretty cool.

Just a couple clips from Mickey

I have a “Turbine Torcher” arriving tomorrow. Looks like a pocket sized flamethrower on YouTube.

Also ordered a couple plasma arc lighters from Amazon

My mom has a bird feeder outside her bedroom window.

She likes to watch the birds eat the bird seed, and her cat is mesmerized by it.

The problem is that we have doves in our area, and they are much larger than the other birds.

She wants to feed the small birds, but not the huge ones.

So she ordered this other bird feeder, and put it up today:

https://www.amazon.com/Gray-Bunny-GB-6860-Birdfeeder-Deterrent/dp/B01MRZH23T

So far, the thing works, and the "flying pigs" can't eat the bird seed.

The doves can't seem to figure that it's impossible for them to use the bird feeder.

It's pretty funny watching them try and fail over and over again.

I wonder if they'll ever finally give up.

Here's a very similar bird feeder:

https://www.amazon.com/FORUP-Squirrel-Outdoor-Birdfeeder-Deterrent/dp/B0834NTKVL

It looks the same, and I wouldn't be surprised if it were manufactured in the same factory.

We think that she'll be buying less bird seed now, which was the primary goal.

After some saving up, I received the Ender 3 V2 3D printer

Got a coupla solar fountains for 8bux a pop courtesy of vipon.

Figure I’ll make a little water-park for the birds. Pools, slides, fountains, everything. All welcome, even doves.

When I lived in San Jose, I knew a woman with a pretty decent sports car.

We had pigeons that lived in our neighborhood, and they would "do their business" on her car.

It infuriated her, and she bought a high-powered water gun and shot the pigeons with it, which made no difference for her car.

She called them "flying rats."

If you’re hungry, and want food desperately, getting hosed once or twice is still worth it. It’s eating… it’s survival.

Can’t have a feeder only for “certain birds” any more than you can have a restaurant with a “whites only” or “no Irish” sign in the window. That’s just mean. And I got big angry starlings who stand on the bread I toss out for the normal birds, just to keep them away. So I wait for them to engorge themselves, then put out bread for the normal birds.

I put out the leftover catfood that my cats don’t finish (topping off with some crunchies if not enough), and let whoever wants it eat it. Mostly it’s New Cat, sometimes Fuzzy Cat, but t’other day were 2 big fat chittering raccoons(!) who were bitch-slapping each other for access to the bowl.

I’d rather have someone eat it than throw it out.

You might want to re-read my post.

I had pigeons here for ages. There’d be a gray churning blanket of feathers that you couldn’t see the ground at all when they were all at the trough. Feathered locusts is what I called ’em. Sprinkle birdfeed for the normal birds, they’d land, and 5min later there’d be nothing put pigeoncrap left behind.

There’s a house whose yard abuts mine, with a ceramic owl on the roof to chase away pigeons. Ha! Not quite effective, ’cause I got a pic of that owl with a big fat pigeon sitting on the owl’s head.

After not feeding anyone for quite a while, they went elsewhere. Normal birds stayed around, eating seeds, bugs, whatever wild birds eat. Once the pigeons went away, fed the normal birds in slowly increasing quantities. Might get a stray pigeon who comes around, but that’s it.

I received a Smith & Wesson HRT knife

Finally got the Bird Water-Park in operation. Hardest part is finding a “tub” suitable for birds. Look at a crappy plastic bowl to go under a flowerpot or something… 10bux. Call it a “replacement birdbath bowl” and… 67bux.

Took the somewhat cracked (where it snaps into place) lid from an unused spiderwebby storage bin from under the patio, and flipped it upside-down. Olympic-sized bird-pool!

I got a scrap of rubber roofing and stuck it in my old leaky concrete B-bath then weighed it down with some river stones. I’ve also used the planter bases but they fail eventually…

With the lockdown gone I decided it was time I bought myself something nice.
I have this 11y old VW I’m quite happy with, but the lighting could be better.
So I bought myself a (very legally approved) retrofitting set of H7 LED bulbs.

From Germany. They are very tight-a$$ people if it’s about modifications to your car.
But when it comes to safety I say: better tight-a$$ than dead-a$$.
It’s for the low beam headlight only, but 95% of the time is low beam driving.

These bulbs that produce about 220% more light are not (yet) available for every car.
Because the manufacturer has to handle ton’s of red tape per bulb, per head light.
So until now it looks like cherry picking aimed at the most sold brands/types of cars.
