Hi Simon, can you recommend which solder to use when assembling a host? What type do you use in your flashlights? Leaded or lead free?

I’m sure it will be worth the wait.
Not sure what Simon uses, but I like 63/37 leaded solder. It has a lower melting point and it’s easier to work with.

The key is the soldering iron,
T2 solder iron , The temperature can reach 400 degrees Celsius, and use use D24 soldering iron tip
It’s much easier if you preheat your host. A little while in the toaster oven to get it near 100c makes it much easier on your soldering iron.
How are the LH351D bins from Simon?
I’m looking at getting a couple T2’s maybe in 4000K, or 3500/2700K
I’ve have some S2+ with 2700k and 5700k and the tints are fantastic. The 5700k has a very slight green tint but hasn’t caused any issues with photography. If you follow the Instagram link in my signature you can see some photos taken using these lights.

Does S21A and S21B have the same size reflectors?
I need replacement for S21B, however in the store is only for S21A

Simon for your others FW Drivers can you consider to put 3 more groups?
0.1% 1% 10% 45% 100%.
0.1% 1% 10% 35% 70%
1% 5% 20% 50% 100%.
It will give more flexibility based on the type of driver used and limit the maximum power for extend runtime.
Can confirm that it fits.

You could just replace the driver with another 17mm driver that has whatever modes you prefer.

Yes, they are the same.
Switching from 50% brightness mode to 100% brightness mode, the naked eye cannot perceive this brightness change.
So I don’t think this ratio is reasonable.
My suggestion is that the ratio of the previous mode of 100% mode should not exceed 40% at most.
