Coronavirus **personal experiences** thread

Thanks, Jared. Yes, I found the same claim about this being different, and also no explanation. I’m not worried since we have very little problems with the vaccine in contrast to problems with Covid-19. And I hope there will be no long-term effects of the protein fingers crossed.

This might be the price to pay until someone comes up with a better idea. And it should teach us some humbleness about nature and our understanding of it.

Edit: Saw NorthernHarriers and Sidneys entries too late. Hope you’re right.

BTW, back to topic - I had symptoms yesterday, but feel really well today, except the sore muscle. Maybe it was not related.

I got my second shot today!

My left arm (where I got the shot) was a little sore for 15-30 minutes.

Also, there was almost no line at all.

Four weeks ago there was a long line.

If I have any more side effects, I'll post them in this thread.

...

Also, I went to Walmart today.

There was a guy in there with a "chin diaper".

That's when you wear a mask, but you don't cover your nose or your mouth with the mask.

It's bad enough when people don't cover their nose, but c'mon!

I'm glad California still has a mask mandate, and I'm glad most people follow the mandate in my neighborhood.

But people that don't know how to wear a mask, or choose not to--I avoid them like the Covid.

UPDATE:

My left arm is tender in the area where I got the shot, but it's no big deal.

I just have to not lean on my left side.

I hope it doesn't affect my sleeping as I always sleep on my side.

If they are escaping the cell, do we know where and how far they go before before encountering a proper immune attack? I’m not suggesting I have the answer, but with the shear numbers of vaccines and therefore opportunities for entropy to do its work, I’d say it seems statistically likely for one S protein in someone to enter the blood.

To be clear, I’m trying to keep up with the latest research and keep uncertainties in check. If you have links to detailed answers or research papers about the containment of the S protein, it’d be beneficial for everyone.

Not sure if theorising possible biological interference by body-produced spike protein is at any level relevant if real world mass data already available over a period of months and millions of vaccinated people does not show that harm, and I see no biological mechanism how this could become a longterm effect showing up only months after the jab (both the mRNA and produced spike protein is very unstable and is broken down in hours/maybe days, not months).

(And as a reminder: what the mass data does show is how incredibly effective the vaccins are in stopping both getting and spreading COVID-19, a nasty disease that actually harms people and kills, no-one a year ago would have dreamed how good the current vaccines would become and how fast they are available, and hopefully for the whole world soon. We are soooo lucky to have these vaccines and people seem to have no idea about that)

(at the moment.)

All facts undisputed, I still find it nice to discuss the mechanisms, especially in this nice civil manner shown here. I learn a lot while browsing the BLF :+1: .

People around me are quite eager to getting vaccinated.

The 109 used to have a few points on Francis Lewis north of Northern Blvd they used as blind mans curves to catch speeders but the past few years they`ve been mysteriously absent which is unbelievable since where Francis Lewis and Utopia Pkwy intersect is a major death intersection, especially for motorcycles.

somebody is not listening

and still not listening:

I suggest people use the Report button… it is an automated algorythm that deletes reported posts, if enough people click it

How many reports does it take?

Not the place for tinfoil hats:

Although the obvious conspiracy theories that are wacky (“people with red hair are plotting with Volkswagen owners to take over the world”) are against forum rules and should not be allowed, I am less worried that people will believe them and act on that kind of nonsense than I am worried about the kind of nonsense that is an attempt to scare people away from getting vaccinated under the guise of being sincerely concerned about an alleged possible danger from the vaccines. The former is easy to see as false and coming from a malicious agenda, but the latter is more likely to be given some credence by people who do not have the ability or are too lazy to do their own simple research and find out that the various theoretical problems mentioned have no basis in reality and have not been reported even once in millions and millions of vaccine doses being administered over many months.

Wellp, it’s blondes and it’s now Voltswagen, but you were close. And the plans are already under way, so there’s nothing you can do about it now.

True dat.

‘If more North Carolinians get vaccinated, the state could end most pandemic restrictions by June 1, Gov. Roy Cooper said Wednesday, though the mask will likely remain. In order for that to happen, though, at least 67% of the state’s adults would have to have at least a first-dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.’

‘Cooper said his conversations with state health officials have solidified his belief that “we’ll have enough protection across our communities to be able to live more safely with this virus.”’

COVID-19 restrictions ending June 1? Only if North Carolinians hit key targets.

In Florida for a few months living the dream.

All government mandated restrictions here lifted.

Life is good. :heavy_check_mark:

Florida confirmed cases are still growing
and people in Florida are twice as likely to test positive, compared to California

California cases have flattened the curve

both states have 30% of the population vaccinated.

Well, you know what they say: “infections have consequences.”

Have you ever looked at the VAERS database for the C19 vaccines There are close to 3K deaths reported so far in the US and hundreds more serious reactions documented including cardiovascular and neurological episodes. The only false and misleading information here is that “[adverse reactions] have not been reported even once in millions and millions of vaccine doses”. NOTE: Despite stating these statistics, I recognize there are not mechanistic explanations for these events. Enumerable pathways and explanations exist. Some, but definitely not all will be coincidence or otherwise false. The VAERS data includes verified AND nonverified reports.

I’m sorry you are worried about this information spreading but these are peer reviewed papers from prestigious institutions. Saying this is ‘nonsense’ under a ‘guise of being sincere’ is your opinion as well (maybe even a conspiracy theory in itself). I am sincere. Sincere that I want to know what the heck is going on to the best of my ability. I won’t accept your interpretation of my sharing of information and allegations of me ‘scaring people away’ from the vaccines. Find where I said anything to that end and I’ll stand corrected. Additionally, if you want to refute the results of the researchers findings, I’m sure they’ll reply to your emails.

Not yet peer reviewed but in pre-print, a seemingly solid study from MIT/Harvard , has found substantial evidence that parts of Sars-COV-2 viral RNA has made it into the genome of recovered patients of the disease. This was said to be impossible by the same logic used to say that vaccine RNA can’t find it’s way into DNA. The reality is that all the answers don’t yet exist, and we won’t know the true impact of Covid or the vaccines for many years to come.

Lastly, if SB has issue with what I share I’ll take directions from him. I do not adhere to other members attempts at policing the forum.

Yup, California is looking pretty good right now, in the U.S. at least.

I think our governor has followed the science pretty well.

I hope that my part of California has herd immunity when the mask mandate inevitably gets dropped for things like shopping indoors.

Well said JaredM, thank you for the links & info.:heavy_check_mark::heavy_check_mark:
