BLF Poster of the month or year

Many BLF contributers submit very useful posts. It would be nice to have a poster of the month or of the year winner. The criteria would not only be the volume of posts but also the amount of responses indicating amount of people influenced by the post. SB should consider. It would be fun.

Other forums have a point based system for good and bad posts. While most of them don’t have a league table, you can see who the users are with the most points each month or overall.
Not sure if Drupal is setup for this or whether there is a module for it.

Oh. I thought you were talking about flashlight posters, like flashlight-pr0n or something.

“Oh yeah, baby, hit me with those 25,000 warm-white lumens… <droooooooool>”

Glad it’s not that.

That is hilarious. I wonder if flashlight OEMs have posters like that in their dev rooms.

I don't know if Drupal supports it, but Mr. Admin does not support upvoting or downvoting posts.

He thinks that it would make BLF more like Reddit, which is something he does not want.

I don't spend much time on Reddit, so I don't know how toxic it is over there firsthand, but I trust Mr. Admin's judgment.

I vote for Milla. Lifetime award.

The problem with down-voting posts is that many (most?) use it to push comments aside they don’t agree with. Happens all the time on reddit or elsewhere. The down-vote isn’t there for this, it should be for spam or factually wrong statements. I get downvoted on reddit all the time when I post factual statements with sources, just because that post might be an unpopular opinion.

I don't think my posts are all that great, but thanks!

I vote for Lightbringer and Boaz.

They have some of the funniest posts on BLF.

Naw, I saw that movie where once you win that award, you die. So give it to the Boazster. <cackle>

I just think some people should receive credit for hard work. I am not suggesting we should all get ranked 1-100. Something like what Sears used to do with Employee of the Month. They put the worst possible picture of you in the most awkward position on the wall in the waiting area.

Whilst it’s a nice thought I think pedastalling is counter productive to the community feel that is blf.

Yeah, but to be fair, they did take those cameras out of the toilet stalls when enough people complained.
