Led4power.com : LD-4 CC linear drivers, ILC-0/1 illuminated tailcaps, optics, MOSX, copper DTP MCPCBs...

I need more info, which lighted tail did you use?

One of the older ICL-1 modules. I cut away the metal casing and swapped out R1 and R2 from 2k to 620ohm. When power is connected directly it seems good but when connected through the driver it’s dim and with pwm.

Does driver has installed bleeder? Are you sure resistors are 620Ohm, they seem to have too low resistance (maybe 62Ohm)? Please check resistor values with multimeter.

I just tested with the multimeter, definitely 620ohm.

I don’t know which one is the bleeder on the driver. I ordered 2 drivers from you recently, here is a pic of the second driver…

That driver doesn't have bleeder (3-pin component missing on ~2 o'clock).

Good to know it wasn’t my shitty soldering that busted something again… at least not yet. The old broken driver has a bleeder I can use. Thanks Neven

Finally had time to use spacer for C8 host!

I don’t know if it’s the case of an old type C8 host, but mine shorted leds wires, so I had to isolate the screw:

… and also the fully tightened bezel gave me this:

More details are in this post

It's seems that stainless bezel has slightly different dimensions, I've never heard of someone cracking anna optics, anna is pretty thick TIR.

At request of luminarium iaculator (before thread Remote FET / capacitor tail switch board group buy (collecting interest) existed), I've also started with design if FET tailcap, it's a little bit more complex design, end result should be similar, but price for 500pcs group buy (min. 10pcs per buyer) would be 3.5€ assembled (no spring).

Potentially I could make plastic end piece with thread for mounting waterproof M8 cable gland as option (I need to check local CNC machining prices).

Please let me know if someone is interested to see if there is enough interest.

I’m in!

hi neven; this post to know is the grey cable is the correct wiring for ntc in that build
thanks and thanks for your job

It looks correct.

yep thanks

TIR is ok, the glass between bezel and TIR is shattered. Fortunately I had a spare donor :,-)

That's in any case cheaper repair then, C8 glass thickness can vary from source to source, and probably stainless bezels also can have different heights compared to stock bezel.

Led4Power,

Worth to mention here that the new FET switch should be designed without need to additionally modify main flashlight driver…

So far from what I can se in JaredM and Quadrupel version of FET switch it seems that an additional bleeder resistor modd needs to be added somewhere on the driver? If so… I don’t think everyone will want to fiddle with that and modd the driver to get an working FET switch.

The spacer fits M21A ok.

Only simple resistor bleeder between driver + and gnd is required. I think the point is to have these fet switches for those who (will) sell new lights together with fet switch, in that case seller modifies driver and end user doesn't have to do any kind of modifications.

Or:

Of course, and one is waiting for the assembly:

Driver: LD-B4-20 in 8-12A configuration
Leds: 6x Luxeon V (very floody), 6xLuxeon V2, 6x LUMINUS SST-20 4000K 95CRI, on mosX PCB (with MOSFET+NTC+connector).
