[cycling] discontinued Sofirn D1, what other options are there

Hi,

I was lucky enough to be able to order 2x Sofirn D1 a few months ago before that model got sold out and discontinued. For me, it’s perfect: inexpensive, no battery, has a beam cutoff, and I can place the battery elsewhere on the bike.

So anyway, what other options are there for such inexpensive, battery-less lights? I’ve looked for hours but it seems like this Sofirn D1 was the only one cheap such option?

Thank you.

Huh… had to goggle it, as I never heard of it before.

Cute little thing…

Dunno any direct replacements, but I think a bikelight like the B01 can run off the usb input only, unless I’m misremembering.

Yep, the Lumintop B01 will happily run on USB power with no cell inserted.

I like the B01’s beam and tint, which feels like about 4000K.

You’d need to cobble an alternative mount, but perhaps you could fashion a plug to replace the battery tube? FWIW, the tube on my B01 seems glued to the head. I can’t break it loose by hand.

This Amazon listing for the B01 currently has a 40% promo code Q359PUOV which brings the price down to about $25.

Bugger! That’s even less’n what I paid for it a coupla weeks ago. :expressionless:

Ordered one for low beam to be nice to cars. :+1:
