The new laddas are made in Japan and are cheaper than the old Japanese ones. 1900mAh AA, 2450mAh AA and 750mAh AAA. Prices are $6.50, $10 and $6 Australian
My daughter who’s moving back home for a few months bought 3 packs of the AA Ladda’s for $3.99 each from the Burbank, CA Ikea yesterday. The receipt showed the correct stock number and the correct product description so it wasn’t as if it was incorrectly rung up.
Who knows if it was an in-house sale or incorrectly priced by the store. If she has told me earlier I would have had her pick up me some packs too.
Anyone living near Burbank may want to check out the store. She said that they had a lot of the AA’s left.
The closest IKEA to me just got them "back in stock at the store" after being "out of stock" for almost a year. About 400 packs of AA and 400 packs of AAA remain at this store for "Last chance to buy". I bought 4 packs of AA and 6 packs of AAA basically just for nostalgia because Eneloops from AmazonUS do not cost much more.
Embossed Date Code for AA LADDAs was "2044-HW" (made 44 week of 2020)
Embossed Date Code for AAA LADDAs was "2045-H3" (made 45 week of 2020)
AA LADDA were 1.316 Volts DC as delivered
AAA LADDA were 1.323 Volts DC as delivered
thanks for the info!!
so it would seem:
1900mAh = regular AA eneloops
2450mAh = AA eneloop pro / old IKEA ladda
750mAh = regular AAA eneloops
sad to see old AAA ladda / eneloop pro go, that was a rad little cell. right at the edge of what is possible.
but all in all, if the new ones are all made in japan, that’s a win.
regular eneloops are much more durable concerning internal resistance after X discharges.
we’ll have to see. but anything made in japan (i.e. by FDK) will likely be good quality, except if the purchasing agents of IKEA forced them to decrease quality by using cheaper metals.
but at that point, I think it would be cheaper to buy chinese eneloops (less pure metals, cheaper machinery, lower cost of labor).
no I think if they’re japanese cells, IKEAs purchasing agents did everyone a favor.
I’ve tested all 32 AA/AAA Laddas (with Liitokala lii-500S though).
All but one meets or exceeds declared capacity when discharged with 0,5A.
Worst one (AA) was 15-20 mAh worse than declared 2450.
Was at IKEA in West Sacramento, CA on Friday 5/28 to buy dishware and it found the white LADDA AA & AAA (made in Japan) endcap was fully stocked.
