Are new eneloops as good as the old ones, or are they, too, going the way of amaloops and LADDAloops?
I’m hearing that new amaloops (el hecho en Chine) are garbage, as in, like, don’t even bother.
we’ll have to see. but anything made in japan (i.e. by FDK) will likely be good quality, except if the purchasing agents of IKEA forced them to decrease quality by using cheaper metals.
but at that point, I think it would be cheaper to buy chinese eneloops (less pure metals, cheaper machinery, lower cost of labor).
no I think if they’re japanese cells, IKEAs purchasing agents did everyone a favor.
I’ve tested all 32 AA/AAA Laddas (with Liitokala lii-500S though).
All but one meets or exceeds declared capacity when discharged with 0,5A.
Worst one (AA) was 15-20 mAh worse than declared 2450.
Per the website, only the AAA laadas are in stock in Portland, OR. The 2450 AA ones are perpetually out of stock. Are they in stock at the store?
I found them at the IKEA store in "Renton, WA." (near Seattle).
Website currently shows stock for this store as 385 (4-packs) of AA and 447 (4-packs) of AAA.
What surprised me was seeing them back in stock this week after being out of stock for almost a year.
It’s because they are not using FIFO. Employees are screwing up the inventory.

Very glad to see 1900mAh and made in Japan confirmed. I hope HKJ or another thorough tester is able to review a set soon.
I’m surprised to see Ikea offering both 1900mAh and 2450mAh. I assumed we would only see a single variety. The packaging seems to indicate 1,000 cycle and 500 cycle ratings respectively.
I could use some more NiMH cells in both AA and AAA, and want standard capacity, so this is looking like good timing.
Good to know that the new Laddas are still made in Japan. I have now received my delivery and it was still the well-known white ones.
Can you actually see somewhere on the package or on the battery the date of manufacture?
So if they say 1000 cycles they aren’t quite the same as the normal 1900mah eneloops, they state 2100 cycles.
The Date Code for the "white LADDAs" is very lightly embossed on the battery wrapper and hard to see with a format similar to "2044-HW" which would indicate a manufacturing date of week "44" of year "2020". I don't know what the letters following the dash indicate.
