Non-Flashlight Things You Enjoyed Doing Today

I've never shot at a car before, except in the Grand Theft Auto series.

It's pretty fun!

Helped my brother with his final undergrad essay again this evening. I love helping people study.

After vacuuming the carpet, I treated all stains with a cleaner and used a wet vacuum to get it all bright and shiny again.

I’m watching the Azerbaijan F1 race at my son’s place

I’ve been training and building strength for arm wrestling for about 7 months. Seems like this become my new hobby. lol
Before, my weight is 63-64kg, now I’m 69 kilograms.

Bought medium roast coffee from my local roasters (Been avoiding medium roast and always dark). Hand grind with my Timemore C2, gave it a good brew with my melitta brewer and enjoyed it with some milk.

Boy I miss how medium roast taste like

watched Trevor Bauer pitch for the Dodgers.
he might the the “bad boy” of baseball, but he is good.
talking about good: Braves Win!

.

…. but somebody has to do it. You do it very well though.

Sunday at the powerstation this bloke was hanging around. He would weigh in at over 100kg, tail about the same size as my leg.

Are they friendly?

They are skittish but like anything when cornered they can become dangerous. Hand rared and they can be like a dog.
Sorry I meant hand raised

Because I needed to do something with my hands, today I made a quick and dirty chest from a plank that was hanging around (and a bit of plywood for the bottom). The plank was low quality pine and badly warped, and 25mm thick which is way too thick and heavy for a chest of this size. The chest is glued with wood glue, the scews in the middle are there for integrity but mainly to force the bended wood straight :confounded: .

I like how it turned out, and I will likely paint it blue. I have no use for it yet.

The FW3A is for size reference.

That has some pretty nice grain structure for a “plank”. I’d be tempted to leave it ‘au natural’. Nice work!

:+1: Yes, I like the grain too. I am a big fan of clear coated woods so the grain shows. However, that is not everyones cup of ea.

The handle cut outs are nicely done. How did you cut them out?

It is a carry case for all your flashlights.

22mm speed-drill holes, then connect them using a (electrical) jigsaw.

In the meantime I ruined the good looks.
Like Don, I like clear coat so I skipped the blue idea. But I gave the outside a coloured “wash” first to make it a bit darker, and that showed my laziness of not removing the glue remains thoroughly. So now the outside looks a hundred years old and the inside as new :person_facepalming: .

No problem because it will live hardly visible under the wooden bench on our balcony. But maybe I will one day go for the blue anyway….

I’ve made that error with glue. I love and hate modern PVA glues.

I have a lid with wood hinges I made for a project and then didn’t use. It might fit. It may be a little small. It is canarywood with something else for the hinges. I forget just what off hand

Car Camping Cooking Kit
